LONDON(AFP) (AFP) – US Energy Secretary Steven Chu said Tuesday the Obama administration wanted to paint roofs an energy-reflecting white, as he took part in a climate change symposium in London.
The Nobel laureate in physics called for a "new revolution" in energy generation to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
But he warned there was no silver bullet for tackling climate change, and said a range of measures should be introduced, including painting flat roofs white.
Making roads and roofs a paler colour could have the equivalent effect of taking every car in the world off the road for 11 years, Chu said.
It was a geo-engineering scheme that was "completely benign" and would keep buildings cooler and reduce energy use from air conditioning, as well as reflecting sunlight back away from the Earth.

We might even contribute to global warming with all that production of paint.

If Steven Chu gives me twelve marbles and a couple of tadpoles, I’ll let him whitewash my roof.
Simple, we create jobs for a few million people to paint everything white in the Spring and black again in the Fall. The jobs of course will pay $150k/year, have full benefits and pensions for life (as long as they vote Democrat).

Can you beleive that Europeans are actually following the lead of algore and this next of idiots in the whole global warming nonsense. Also they are all going to “just make new energy happen” like it is magic! So we have magic and we have a nut case who has convienced the world he can turn down the temp. of the globe if they do what he says.
This follows up our pointed headed liberals telling the world they could create wealth from giving poor people with no money loans and reselling them to the world!
