I wonder how many people read the article? To begin with, it is from the LA Times, and is the usual piece that results from an editor searching for something, anything to say that could damage Republicans. The article itself is vapid; the Republican Senators said nothing of interest. The experts are unknowns. The LA Times did, however, manage to raise the blood pressure on FR. To them, the article got the response they wanted. Suckers.
Thanks AuntB.
I said when the announcement was made that any opposition would be branded racist and sexist. There’s nothing to it. The opposition to Sotomayor is based on her legal decisions and views, not her race or sex. If we continue to allow these people to bully us with irrational arguments, they will keep on doing it, as they have in the past. Emotional, irrational arguments are their substitute for discussing substantive issues.
Every time a Republican picks a Supreme Court nominee, there has been feigned outrage, and bozos like Ted Kennedy campaign against them. But Republicans are supposed to be afraid to criticize?
“How come I never heard any cries of racism about Miguel Estrada?”
You know the answer to that. Because the Democrats and their fellow Democrats in the news media are lying hypocrites who only give a dump about Latinos when it can help them politically.
“what was he Irish?”
Hispanics being anything but white is a recent invention that only came about when they found out they were missing out on the handouts.
So he’s white, because he’s a Republican.
It sounds like the RATS' wish, not necessarily reality.
It didn't matter to the left when they opposed a LATINO man, Estrada. In fact, they TRASHED HIM!
They need to get rid of the Republican party 'advisers' and listen to the people they expect to vote for them that are actually citizens of this country!
These so-called advisers are people who are breathing the same looney DC air these elected officials are breathing!
Republican adviser?

Mouth piece connected to the Los Angeles Times.
******
Robert de Posada, president of the Republican-leaning Latino Coalition, told the Los Angeles Times that Martinezs departure is especially disheartening because it follows the resignation of another high-profile Latino in the GOP: former Atty. Gen. Alberto Gonzales. De Posada said: The message that it sends is Latinos are not welcome. The radical conservative base has a temporary victory right now.
We can`t fight both?If the Rat wanna be party doesn`t show some balls,I swear to god I`ll never vote for another one again. And I don`t give a sh*t who`s running.
This Latino Coalition also endorsed Rod Blagojevich and Luis Gutierrez
Set, match. Obama is The Messiah!
Spoken like a true RNC party hack. Enjoy your chains.
What’s your plan for change?
I think you meant Alberto Gonzalez. Then there was Miguel Estrada. The Democrats never pay a price for opposing a Hispanic or black nominee (remember how Clarence Thomas was treated), but the Republicans always do.
This country is about to go down for the third time, folks.
Exactly! People are so quick to trash the GOP when it is the LA Times reporting. Most of the time we have never heard of the strategists they are talking about. If we have heard of them, we have no respect for them.
All you do is stand up and say we will not support any judicial nomination for anyone who rules on feelings not on the Constitution not matter who it is. What’s wrong with that? Short and to the point — use the Court to make new rulings equals vote NO to activists judges.
The Repubs voted 100% against the 2 big Oshama budget bills. McConnell worked hard behind the scenes to get a vast majority to vote against the closing of Guantanamo. Cap and trade might now be on the ropes.
Despite your anger, the Repubs are holding up fairly well in the big fights. I hope they keep it up and don't get splintered apart by distractions.
