North Korea is reported to have restarted its nuclear plant and fired another short-range missile in defiance of warnings from the United States that it would "pay the price" for its actions.

A South Korean official told Yonhap, the news agency, that a night-time missile launch had been carried out on Tuesday and that there are signs of imminent further launches along the rogue state's West coast. The latest missile brings the total number of launches to six in the past three days. The North has warned that it may continue to launch missiles until Saturday.

"The North appears to have launched a ground-to-ship missile into the East Sea shortly after 9pm Tuesday," said the unnamed defence official. Pyongyang had already launched two missiles from its east coast earlier on Tuesday, after firing three on Monday. ...

What “price” will that be? SERIOUSLY... ANOTHER letter and sanction from the UN? Or will we (or our allies) finally take out Pyongyang and Chia-Head once and for all?

Who’s the closest ally there with a nuke, India? A well-timed strike could make it look like a wittle accident...

It's the logical thing to do if you're a sadistic megalomaniac bent on accumulating as much power as possible when faced with a weak-kneed, two-faced, incompetent appeaser like Obama leading the country that is your greatest nemesis.

I’m sure American ships and bombers with nukes, based in Japan and Korea, would be the closer than the Indians.

Haven't we sold or given away enough weapons systems and weapons technology where someone else could do this? Hell, we've even it to our enemies. lol...

Obama is in WAY over his head. This is either Jimmy Carter part two or Lyndon Johnson part two.

NK is saying something like, “Obama is a paper tiger. He will do nothing.” And they will be proven right.

I’m too young to remember Johnson (wasn’t born yet), and BARELY remember Carter’s presidency (I remember the daily hostage crisis counts on the news, news about lines at gas stations, and I pretty clearly Reagan’s election and things after that...).

Honestly, though — Obama compared to Johnson or Carter, I believe is putting it too mildly though. Obama is something all his own the likes of which we have NEVER seen in DC before. At least Carter and Johnson were Americans (even if they both engaged in what can be definitely argued as anti-American policies, decisions, etc...).

I agree with you that he is in way over his head, not that he would agree in the slightest. To Obama and his followers — everyone else is wrong. The thing is too few know the REAL Obama — Obama is an enemy within in more ways than one, IMHO.

It’s too bad that Obama, I truly believe, would NEVER order a nuclear strike, or even a strike with conventional bombs. He didn’t even have the guts to give the order to kill those 3 pirates... I suppose I could be wrong. Our military may be able to convince them that it’s a necessary action... That’s the only reason I asked about our allies, though. I hate to say it, but I think the ONLY thing that MIGHT lead Obama to engaging No. Korea is if they try to cross the DMZ and kill our U.S. soldiers there and continue onward into So. Korea. Then again, according to a friend of mine who spent his tour on the DMZ, they get shot at quite regularly so that’s nothing new (granted, he was over there in the early 1990s...).

Does anyone know what the official Chinese response to all of this has been? I’m curious as to what they’re saying... The only thing I worry about is that China is already waging an economic war against us (in regards to the dollar - they openly warned about that in fall of ‘07 I think). I don’t think it would take much for China to scare Obama into backing down — unless he feels that his Muslim allies would fight China (although that would pretty much ruin the illusion, and might tick off Russia as well...).

I hope I’m wrong. I hope Obama has some kind of gravitas, but so far I haven’t seen it — except when it comes to promoting his PERSONAL combo of Marxist/Fascist/Muslim agenda, and his stated goal of being “everyone’s best friend”.

I can’t think of a POTUS other than Truman since the creation of the bomb that would have ordered a nuclear strike pre-emptively, and only Reagan might have used the bomb in response.

There hasn’t been an American POTUS since Truman with the balls to declare a flat-out conventional war. Not a “police action” - not seek “an international coalition.” Just say “Screw it. We’re going to bomb someone into dust.” Hasn’t been one, regardless of party. Ever since we changed the name of the “Department of War” to the “Department of Defense,” we’ve been loathe to really go on the offensive.

Now we have a very complicated situation in Korea. If this had been only five years ago, we could have said “Well, you said you wanted us to leave, so we’re going... bye!” But the new political situation in South Korea is that the Koreans want us to stay. The question for us is “Stay and do what?”

We’re now QUITE painfully aware that the Chinese would love dearly to get out from under the “dollar trap” they’re in from buying so much of our sovereign debt. What more perfect excuse to take aggressive action against the US financially than to cite some “aggression” by the US against the PRC’s “Fraternal Socialist Allies” in N. Korea. The PRC has to place only one call to get Obama to back down. The call won’t be to Obama or Hillary. It will be to TurboTax Timmy.

The smart move for the US right now would be to just shut up. Stop with all the stupid, impotent diplomatic “condemnations” and turgid twaddle out of the State Department. Just shut up. Say nothing, no matter how outrageous the loons in N. Korea become. While we’re being completely silent, we pre-position some strategic assets in the region, quietly, with no announcement in any news media.

If Obama follows precedence N. Korea will be forced to accept US $ Billions in exchange for shutting down the reactor.

"North Korea fires sixth missile and restarts nuclear plant"

Never mind. Obama just nominated a brown skined female to the supreme court. Discussing her gender, skin color and heritage is far more important than a few nuclear bombs in our back yard.

Could the "dollar trap" save us from the financial mess we're in? And by the way, what exactly is a dollar trap? Is it that they can't stop buying our debt or we'll stop buying their stuff?
