When I take on a subject that hundreds of others have written about, I try to vary the approach and content so y'all, the readers, get something new and useful from the column. Lemme know if this succeeds.

It succeeded. I hope you mail it to her though, otherwise, she won’t see it. And even then, she may not see it.

The letter is ‘right on’ as are all of John Armor’s writings. I always look forward to reading John’s column in our small town weekly newspaper.

Needs to read to the congress by a Republican, if there is one with enough moxie to do it.

Weve just met but I feel Ive known you forever, because of your compelling story. Im an elderly, white male whos a lawyer. But wait, Im not that dull and dismissible. Ive had my story moments. Remember that psychologists list of the ten worst things that can happen to a person? Losing your job, or house, getting divorced, going bankrupt, facing death, burying a child. You know, nasty stuff. Ive been through almost everything on that list, some more than once. You pick yourself up and continue on as best you can. Big whoop.
Great article, John. Love it. I thought that the above was the most penetrating part of it, and could profitably have been expanded with a bit more detail. The part where you mention Lincoln in the same breath with some more universally notorious figures could have borne a further exploration, or IMHO simply have been omitted.
You are on target. Fire for effect.

“By the way, I am also a person of color. The color is beige. From what I see on TV, were about the same.”
Many years ago, working in a photo lab, I made the realization that we are all green on the negs, we ARE about the same!
Yes, success in ALL CAPS, as is usual for you. Thanks!
