Doug Ross reported today that if you were a Democratic-donating Chrysler dealership group the odds of you losing a dealership was close to zero.
In all of the 789 dealerships to be closed, World Net Daily found that owners contributed $450,000 to GOP presidential candidates; $7,970 to Sen. Hillary Clinton; $2,200 to John Edwards and $450 to Barack Obama.
Doug pointed out that four Democrat dealer groups that were insulated from the Chrysler closings. This even included corrupt democratic-donating dealerships.
Dealmaker Auto Group was fined this year by the New York State Attorney General for fraudulent practices including not paying off loans on vehicles traded-in by customers.
But, they were allowed to keep all of their Chrysler dealerships open.
The owners of DealMaker Auto Group are big Democratic donors.
Just two months ago Dealmaker was fined by the NY Attorney General.
9WSYR reported on this corrupt auto group:
Albany, New York (WSYR-TV) - The New York State Attorney General says DealMaker Auto Group must pay $44,000 in penalties and costs for fraudulent practices including not paying off loans on vehicles traded-in by customers. Attorney General Andrew Cuomos Office made the announcement Monday afternoon.
In addition to the $44,000 that the company must pay to the state, DealMaker must also produce an independent examiner who will oversee the companys compliance with the court order. This examiner must also be approved by the Attorney Generals Office.
This company has repeatedly ripped off consumers through its fraudulent business practices, said Attorney General Cuomo. This order puts the brakes on illegal practices and sends a message to all businesses that they will be held accountable to their customers.
The Attorney Generals Office reached an agreement with DealMaker about a year ago to pay off more than $2 million in loans on about 150 trade-in vehicles. Since then, the Attorney Generals Office says DealMaker continued to repeat the same deceptive practices.
DealMaker has locations in Watertown, Syracuse, Theresa, Ogdensburg, and Potsdam.
But, for some strange reason this corrupt dealer group was spared by the Obama Auto Task Force.
Again here is what we know so far--
** Earlier it was reported that the Obama Administration may have targeted GOP donors in deciding which Chrysler dealerships would have to close their doors.
** Later it was discovered that a Big Dem Donor Group was allowed to keep all 6 Chrysler dealerships open.... And, their local competitors were eliminated.
** The Auto Task Force, which includes Obama cabinet members, is reportedly calling the shots on which dealerships will close and stay open.
** Steven Rattner leads The Auto Task Force and is married to the former National Finance Chair of Democratic Party, Maureen White.
** The closings in several instances appear to benefit Dem donating dealers where local GOP-linked dealerships were closed.
** Even Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla) lost his Chrysler dealership in Florida and found out from a colleague on the House floor.
** Lithia Motor Group's owners gave $15,000 to two Democrat candidates and support nationalized healthcare. They will likely lose just two of 29 dealerships and gain 5 more.
** One report claims the odds that these Chrysler closings occurred without partisan bias are less than 1%.
** After closing the 789 dealerships Chrysler announced that they are already looking to open new franchises.
** Chrysler dealership owners donated to Republicans over Democrats by a ratio of 76% to 24%.
** Using the list of all 789 dealerships to be closed, WND found that owners contributed $450,000 to GOP presidential candidates; $7,970 to Sen. Hillary Clinton; $2,200 to John Edwards and $450 to Barack Obama.

UPDATE: 40 Democrat-friendly Dealerships Become 42 After The Dust Settles; Their Competition Gutted As Well Doug Ross again:
These four Democrat dealer groups own 40 Chrysler dealerships. One of those owners is already in all sorts of legal and financial hot water with suppliers and customers. He's not exactly a candidate most screening processes would keep.
Yet they will likely end up with 42 dealerships after the shuffling (maybe more). And their competition is gutted in every single market! Strange!
Gwynne From Texas put together this US map of the closed dealerships.

Kudos and thank you, Gwynne! Great job.

I’m surprised this investigation wasn’t performed by the mainstream media.

Pic isn’t showing for me.
Lions kill the young of competitors mates to eliminate future competition.
I can’t say it enough. The democrats aren’t behaving as if they will face GOP challenges again because they don’t intend to.
They are doing great work and we are starting to see the bias in the data. The key facts so far: Closed dealerships donated to Republican presidential candidates over Obama by a 1000:1 ratio. Republican donations by Chrysler dealership owners were 3 times the donations to Democrats. Those two facts taken together should raise anybody's eyebrows, even Obamas. When we see the donation data for the open dealerships I doubt if that 1000:1 ratio of donations to Pubbie presidential candidates over those to Obama will hold. It might even reverse (LOL).
And don't you just feel sorry for that poor sap who gave $450 to Obama and got nothing in return. The guy must feel like a total outcast. Out the $450 and no dealership to boot.
Is Rush or Sean talking about any of this?
Hmm .. not sure why you can’t.

And all their comrades.......
Are the dealers filing a class action law suit in Federal Court System?
We are feverishly trying to work the OPEN dealership data into the maps and equations. Converting large amounts of information into usable formats takes a little time. FR will be up-to-date on the latest developments as the pieces all come together.
One plan for spatial analysis that I plan to do when the OPEN dealers are finally plotted is to correlate each dealer, both open and closed, with their respective Congressional Districts so as to see if there is any correlation there.
Any other suggestions on how we can massage the data and do you know any good sources of data that might use to query against?
Gwynne from Texas
Awesome! Thank you for standing up and contributing your expertise.
Sweet.
Thank you.
I believe another sinister motive is to prevent the Republican dealerships from sponsoring or providing advertising revenue to conservative radio programs.
Another thing to consider is whether the closed dealerships are non union shops. My bet is that almost all the closed dealerships are non union. Chrysler is now owned by the union and what dealerships are they going to shutter? Won’t be the ones where their members work. These probably correspond closely with republican ownership.
Good point.
“Basically the task force is moving too quickly and there’s kind of a double standard,” a senior congressional aide told FOXNews.com. “We’ll do anything to bail out the banks, but we’re saying to the automobile industry you can fail. ... The people who are on (the task force) are financial guys. These aren’t car guys.”
The task force, headed by investment banker Steven Rattner, is comprised of Cabinet members and Obama administration officials who have extensive backgrounds in finance. They include Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, Commerce Secretary Gary Locke, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson.
Bruce Belzowski, a professor at the University of Michigan and an auto expert, said despite their formidable resumes, the task force members started off behind the curve.
Steven “Steve” Lawrence Rattner is an American financier and private equity investor. He is one of the four founding partners of the private investment firm Quadrangle Group, which invests media and communications companies globally. On February 23, 2009, the Wall Street Journal announced that Rattner would be named to the Treasury Department as auto industry adviser The New York Times reported that he would be lead advisor and leader of the industry group for Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.[1]
A graduate of Brown University, Rattner started his career as a reporter with The New York Times, first at the Washington bureau, where he became close friends with Times’ ownership-family member Arthur Sulzberger, who also was at the time working as a reporter; and then at the London bureau. Subsequently, Rattner quit journalism and joined Morgan Stanley, where he founded their Communications Group. In 1989 he joined Lazard as a General Partner; he founded their Media and Communications Group. In 1997 he became Lazard’s deputy chairman and Deputy CEO, a new position. He stepped down from those positions in 1999, and left Lazard in 2000, with three other partners in that firm, to found the Quadrangle Group.
In January 2008 it was reported that, through his friendship with Rattner, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s extensive business interests were placed in “a sort of blind trust” because of Bloomberg’s possible run for the presidency. Bloomberg would “continue to have control of and access to certain investment decisions.”[2] Quadrangle will continue with its responsibilities for Bloomberg after Rattner’s departure for the Treasury position. Bloomberg also strongly endorsed Rattner’s Treasury appointment.[1]
Rattner is married to Maureen White, the former National Finance Chair for the Democratic Party. He has four children.
