Put a fork in the USA. It’s done. Weimar America, here we come! (And guess what follows.)

First, they are evil. Second, they are insane. Probably stupid, too.

Isnt this the same place where US servicemen are forbidden to bring in religious items for fear of offending Muslim sensibilities? No. They're allowed to have Bibles and even wear crosses around their necks.
I have had a cross on a chain around my neck all the years I've been here.
And I'm still in one piece. :)

Are they insane, stupid or just evil? Most of the Obama-loving State Department scum that are here?
They're a little mix of all three.

Also mentioned by Al Kamen in the Washington Post, without comment or evaluation:

Evidently it’s not an official embassy event, but it’s the supposed right of embassy staff to do whatever they want.
I wonder if that includes distributing Bibles in Saudi Arabia? Somehow, I doubt it. Of course there are rules that embassy staff has to follow in foreign countries. But evidently the ambassador is not interested in enforcing them.

If this sort of thing makes Free Republic members angry just think what it will do when the story gets out to Muslims clerics in Iraq.

What follows Weimar America?
1. Hyperinflation?
2. Dictator with a gift for oratory?
3. Both?

“Black Swans” in this context being things that are “big and unexpected”?

Exactly. Like a NK nuke being launched at Seoul or Tokyo, or a an Iran-Israel war.

They’re arrogant, they think they are smarter than everyone else, but they’re dumb as bricks. Ever know anybody, who thought he was smarter than everyone, but wasn’t? Someone, who used 4 syllable words, but used the wrong word? Quite irritating and in Baghdad, could be deadly.

Did this really happen?I had to verify because I don't really associate with State Department people (I just snicker at them when I see them all pompous with their little fingers exptended on their cups of latte while trying to keep the desert sand off of their shiny loafers.)
Yes. It really did happen.

During the 1979 Islamic revolution in Iran, the U.S. Embassy in Tehran was the
second target that was overrun by the fundamentalists.
I'll donate an extra $50 during the next Freepathon in your name if -- during the next 24 hours -- you can identify the FIRST place they sacked.
Once you learn these things -- and realize that this angle of the 1979 uprising never got any media attention -- you start to ask yourself a lot of very serious questions.
No "knee-jerking" at all.

I'm talking specifically about the 1979 Islamic uprising in Iran.
Before the Islamic fundamentalists occupied the U.S. embassy and took those Americans hostage, they sacked another location in Tehran. Any ideas?
