And get SUED for not going by background check results???
Correct. It has created multi-generational dysfunction.
That happened awhile back in San Antonio. I can't remember if it was a cable installer, pest control guy or carpet cleaner right now, but he raped the lady at whose house he was "working". The business is getting sued.
So...does this mean that the usurper will have ‘job security’ one day after he is frogmarched out of the WH....lol?!
Many Freepers are perfect conservatives! If you do not agree 100% with many here, you are not a conservative in their eyes.
As for what the conservative views are here on FR, You have either true constitutionalists [who are the real true conservatives]. The constitutionalists as I call them are the most knowledgeable and often write the best posts.
Another group of conservatives on FR are these perfect social conservatives who support government restriction on many social issues, aka the moral police.
Also, You have the individuals who claim Ronald Regan was the best president ever and a conservative should support everything he stood for ... (except amnesty, which RR supported but many Freepers insist he wouldn't support it this day and age ... HA I know that's crap, RR realized this country was the best on the planet and if you wanted to better your life, you could come here. Thats what Regan believed in)
Another conservative definition floating around is more of an action: you have some Freepers who believe being a conservative means agreeing with everything everyone says all the time. Another small group believes being conservative means calling Liberals names all day long without adding any sort of argument against liberalism.
I'm more of a "constitutional" conservative, with strong view points on National security, low government debt, and smaller government with less laws (aka restrictions on liberty).
Personally, I have no problem hiring felons as long as they are not violent felons or sex offenders. Back 45 years ago people finding jobs were not held to such standards that they are today. There was no drug testing, there was no criminal background checks and NO CREDIT CHECKS. A felon could go get a job and work the rest of his life if he wanted to. Now if you get out of jail, you are penalized for life without ever being able to find steady work.
I hate listening to old FOSSIL Freepers demanding society act like they acted 50 years ago when the reality of the situation has changed. It was 100times easier getting jobs in the 60's and 70's then it is in the 90's and 2000's. I support people being given a second chance.
And the 19yo on 15yo example you bring up is a good example of how laws that are supposed to stop 40 to 50 year old men from molesting young kids are being used to arrest and ruin teenagers and very young adults lives forever.
What a Long Post! Ha. Sorry!
If businesses were to take some chances on nonviolent types or people looking to make a fresh start then perhaps progress can be made. Otherwise, just shoot all criminals and the problem is solved.
BTW, God is not an employment agency.
I knew of several electricians who make in the 90s or did recently.
Elitists spend that much to go to college to become social workers earning in the high 20s. Forcing that failure on children who otherwise would make excellent mechanics, tradespeople, etc. is cruel and stupid.
BTW, there was a young man in our neighborhood who was a bit of a trouble maker. I encouraged him to follow his interest in auto mechanics. He was really brilliant with machines and had a strong aptitude for it. He found a junked minibike, not a modern one, but from the 60s/70s (do you remember those?). Neighbors were up in arms as he road around and they wanted to get the cops after him. I discouraged them and explained he had rebuilt it by hand from the bolts up. Eventually, he entered trade school and is a productive, happy person (so I am told, they moved shortly thereafter). Luckily for him his HS still had a shop track.
Meddlers, by their very nature, presume to know what is best for us. Had this kid been allowed to be apprenticed at some auto shop, he would have saved the school and himself a lot of personal heartache (not to mention his mom, though she was a contributing factor in his struggles).
