There are some interesting statements in the Judge's Opinion:

A full and complete description of the federal and state laws that make tax returns confidential.
an admission by the investigators that the tax preparer had not committed any unlawful act.
A full discussion of probable cause requirements, and here I quote "The court may not issue a search warrant when the affidavit provides nothing more than a request for judicial approval in the form of a search warrant to allow the police to conduct a general exploratory search, under the theory that evidence of a crime may be discovered during the search. Hernandez v. People, 385 P.2d 996 (Colo. 1963).4 “The particularity requirement ensures that a search is confined in scope to particularly described evidence relating to a specific crime for which there is demonstrated probable cause.” Voss v. Bergsgaard, 774 F.2d 402, 404 (10th Cir. 1985)."
It is a very clear and well written opinion and nothing in it suggest that the Judge is a liberal moonbat, rather than someone trying to follow the laws of the State of Colorado and the US.
