WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Late-term abortion doctor George Tiller, a prominent advocate for abortion rights wounded by a protester more than a decade ago, was shot and killed Sunday at a church in Wichita where he was serving as an usher and his wife was in the choir, his attorney said.

Regardless, this is a horrific murder and will set back the pro-life movement enormously. Already the pro-death lunatics are trolling places like Free Republic to gather evidence of bloodthirstiness. This is a repulsive, idiotic act, and all of you celebrating this should be ashamed of yourselves.

There will be no shortage of statements.

Kos said that? Gotta link? I’d love to read that one for myself. The doctor was horrible scum, no doubt, but I don’t condone what happened today.

Revolution? Yeah right. Give me a break. We are a nation of laws, and you work to prevent injustice through laws. This will only serve to further the culture of death.

"He is now in our lord’s presence and is answerable to him now."

I wouldn't want to be in Tiller's shoes.

Wasn’t Tiller the close friend, mentor and advisor to Kathleen Sibilius?

“close friend, mentor and advisor” I don’t know, but she received campaign contributions from Tiller through various front organizations.

I’m not sure of the protocol regarding the posting of a vanity....But if OK, could someone start this topic?....Compare the man who shot George Tiller to Obama ally, enabler and friend Bill Ayers. Which guy tried to kill more innocent people?

The score is now 60,000 to 1.

Where do you put the score when they sentence the murderer to death?

This just proves that ALL conservatives are out to kill the normal people in this country!

This might sound strange and foreign to those on FR, but be prepared for the reality of life....

"Perception is Reality" is the corner stone of the Alynsky principals.

We need to be prepared for the use of this new "Crisis" to be seized by the new power block of this country and be used against any person who is against the practice of abortion. It will be used to demonize and paint all people who disagree with abortion with a wide and saturated brush and pass new laws to prevent any more "evils" such as this from ever happening again.

With the use of the willing and servile media this will be an easy task for the ruler of the new Kingdom of America to create such a perception.

I have no idea how this could be counteracted, but despite all that is happening in this country this will probably be a great diversion while more parts of our constitution to be dismantled by the newly appointed king of our country.

I hope that justice is served in this crime, but the pro-life movement has been “set back” ever since secular society became the ruling thumb of the media driven politics.

“...and all of you celebrating this should be ashamed of yourselves.”

With the way you’re jumping to conclusions, you must be a gymnast. You can’t show one example that I’m “celebrating” this crime.

Leave the blame game to the liberals. Pro-lifers have always been the underdogs. Don’t forget how conservatives have been labeled in recent time without just cause. If you wish to measure your convictions by what the opposition thinks, I bid you good fortune. We’ll just continue to press on against popular tide.

It is an injustice and should be condemned by anyone who values the pro-life cause because it is wrong, not just because of the reaction of the culture of death forces.

“It is an injustice and should be condemned...”

Typical liberal tripe. In other words, if we conservatives fail to regurgitate the exact sentiments as you believe to be a like minded outrage, we’re celebrating Dr. Tiller’s death? Go and sell that line at DU. I don’t subscribe to such herd mentality practices.

I’m not suggesting that you’re a liberal, but rather, noting the classic liberal train of thought.
