"This case is more appropriately viewed as an intercession on the behalf of the defenseless against he who would murder them"

So it wouldn't be proper, under any circumstances, to consider this someone attempting to impose by violence a policy that one has not yet been able to get in place through democratic means?

I agree. I don’t condone what was done and I do think it gives genuine pro-lifers a black eye. That said, I don’t think most Americans realize just how heinous Tiller was. I think most Americans are under the impression 3rd trimester abortions don’t exist and they will be horrified to learn what Tiller was doing.

Oh, I’ll decry the violence that took this mans life, but don’t think that I equate innocence with guilt. He was allowed far more life than the countless innocent children he executed.

This man chose a life of destruction not life, sadly his murderer did too. Live by the sword, die by the sword.

“I believe America has come to a breaking point because of the frustration created by the time needed to develope strategy, find a man, propose, fight and acomplish a task ... only to have the proposal watered down or neutered.”

Our patience may have come to an end but our democratic process has not. Someone attempting to impose by force a policy that one cannot get in place through democratic means is, LITERALLY, the definition of terrorism as I type it from the dictionary on my desk...

If Democratic means were COMPLETELY exhausted it would be a different matter - but that isn’t the case here. People are saying that it’s hard, frustrating, inexact, unlikely to yield results but they aren’t saying that all the doors are closed.

The rule of law is supposed to be what divides us from others.

Well said; without the rule of law we are nothing. This undermines our cause greatly, and will result, as said by others above, in millions more deaths.

There is a reason that Obama and the leftists are attempting to force an armed conflict.

The left, historically, have always used the power of the government to kill their political opponents. They’re looking for a reason to justify it.

No ... the call to another American revolution is being sounded from many fronts ...... I personally feel zero wants it to happen.

In fact I think he is doing his best to make armed conflict occur in America ..... our task is knowing the enemy and having good gun control.

Anybody that thinks they can stand up to a modern military is delusional. Having a gun may protect you from rural po-pos, it won't do you any good against a UAV with a hellfire. Watch some Iraqi insurgent videos and think about how that would work against *you*.

The *only* thing protecting us average sheeple is adherence to the law and belief in it.

I don’t condone or endorse it either. Regardless of what Tiller was doing, there is no justification for gunning him down in his church. That said, I am not the least bit upset that he is gone from this Earth. Let his family and friends cry for him.

You’ve been stating that all political, democratic, and legal means weren’t exhausted.

I suppose you can give us an example of what could have been tried next when the “doctor” was blatantly breaking the laws regarding late term abortions,
and the AG and the governor (whom he had paid off) were blocking all legal means to make him stop breaking the laws which we supported democratically.

I’m not so sure the “choice of venue” was “heinous”.

This was not a house of God. This was an apostate church. It might as well have been a Satanic worship service.

Thank you.

Thank you as well for holding people to the rule of law. I confess that I despaired of that happening in a few threads earlier this weekend and wouldn’t even comment.

Again, not condoning vigilantism, but do you understand that Tiller wasn’t doing something pro-lifers thought SHOULD be illegal? He was doing something that WAS illegal. Now, I’m not saying vigilantes are justified in enforcing what the legal system failed to enforce. But don’t pretend that there wasn’t already a law in place to stop Tiller. There was -— he just got away with breaking it.

"Our patience may have come to an end but our democratic process has not"

That statement alone demands medication, a padded cell or the rearrangement of moral logic.

Today, tomorrow, or sometime this week a human being will enter the world that had literally been on the chopping block. Meanwhile, George Tiller is dealing with The Maker, as we all eventually must.

Tiller was using a loophole(the life of the mother being in danger) to get away with it. If your faucet leaks you fix it, you don't burn down your house.

BINGO! And again, I’m not saying the answer is vigilantism. But it is disingenuous to pretend that proper legal channels had not been established to prevent what Tiller was doing. You can pass all the laws in the world, but if there is corruption in the system, how do you enforce those laws?

I don't think the word “murder” in the previous post was about how Man defines it in his laws, but the meaning of the sixth Commandment:

“You shall not murder.”

The meanings are not necessarily the same. As I said before, killing to save your own, or another's life is lawful under God's Commandment.

He was required to get that “loophole” verified,
he did not.

The AG didn’t enforce that portion of the law. It wasn’t an exploited loophole, it was non-enforcement of the law.

Then you investigate the governor and the prosecutor... If evidence is found then you prosecute and remove them. You convene a citizens grand jury (as allowed under Kansas law). Or you vote those people out of office and elect people that WILL properly enforce the law. These are elected offices which means we have every opportunity to do so.

The means for change are there. We haven’t gotten all the change we want but we CAN with organization, effort, and persuasion.

We don’t just cut the law down when we despair or achieving change through it... That’s what communists and revolutionaries do!

Ever seen “A Man for All Seasons” about St. Thomas More? Recall when he is speaking to Roper (who said that he would be willing to cut a wide road through the law to catch the devil.)

“And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned ‘round on you, where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country is planted thick with laws, from coast to coast, Man’s laws, not God’s! And if you cut them down, and you’re just the man to do it, do you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then?”
