You ever try to “do” something about a mentally ill person before they hurt someone (or themselves)?

The criminal revolving door has got nothing on the mentally ill revolving door. It flings them back out on an unsuspecting public at machine gun velocity.

True. At least in my State, emergency involuntary commitment only lasts for 72 hours. Then the by-now angry mental case gets released. He can then go after the family member(s) who put him in there in the first place. He doesn't view them as doing him any favors.
