I don't think the law has provided the freedom to threaten presidents for a long time. I remember cases of people who threatened the life of President Bush getting a visit from the Secret Service the next day and sometimes later getting prison time. Whether President Bush or President Obama, threats against the president are threats against our Constitutional republic and should be taken seriously.
True, but our "leaders" used to be capable of discriminating between a release of hot air and a real threat. A man in bed doesn't seem like an active threat, particularly when the man made no attempt to "get near" the Teleprompter in Chief.
We no longer life in the "Land of the Free", or "Home of the Brave".
