Matron at Oprah's school 'forced pupil to watch pornography', court hears in lesbian sex abuse trial By

A pupil at a school run by Oprah Winfrey was forced to watch pornography by a dormitory matron, a court has heard. The teenager was among at least seven victims aged 13 and 14 alleged to have suffered sexual and physical abuse at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa. Evidence was heard yesterday following explosive claims about sexual misconduct at the school near Johannesburg funded by the U.S. talk show host.

in South Africa with some of the pupils in 2007. The school has
been rocked by two sex scandals over the last two years

Former matron Tiny Virginia Makopo, 28, faces 14 charges including common assault, harassment, soliciting a minor to perform indecent acts and verbal abuse. Teacher Namitha Jaguth yesterday told the court she discovered one girl had been shown lewd footage after asking her if she was okay as she seemed depressed. Three days later the girl, who cannot be named, approached Jaguth and revealed her traumatic experience, the court heard. Why is Oprah’s name in the title of this article? She didn’t condone the incident. Too bad people don’t believe in truth these days.

She owns the school and that makes her responsible.

Don’t be ridiculous. That you don’t like her is fine. But holding the owner of an institution, any institution, accountable for the actions of one person is silly.

You sound like a troll to me.

Another thing, Oprah did the responsible thing as any owner of a business would do. She went immediatly to the school.

Whatever Oprah may be; she was responsible as she should have been in this situation.

Great!

Regarding your earlier post: Why do you think that I put myself above everyone else?

Easy, you seem to lecture people casting yourself in the roll of the only one with any knowledge or sense.

Yeesh. I'm no fan of Oprah, but as far as I've ever heard she's been doing everything possible to assist the investigation and prosecution of this apparent monster in her employ. Big deal.
