I'm as cynical as anyone with regard to the MSM these days but I have to admit even I am shocked by the collective yawn this one has received. Here we have a native-born, foreign-trained Islamist murdering soldiers on a U.S. street and the reaction so far has been largely a sense of irritation that this act of genuine terrorism is getting in the way of the 0bama public relations campaign.

I think we've gone past the point where this one is reparable, and so it will be stifled. It already has been. ABC and CBS spiked the story this evening. RIP Private William Long - we'll mourn you here even if no one else seems to want to.

Wow, what deja vu..!

You know if we turned the clock back about 12 years that sounds almost like the prevalent government attitude at the time TWA Flight 800 crash --Bill Clinton was campaigning, and the message was "peace and prosperity".

Messages like that were seen as helping him, while thoughts along the lines of, "some nasty folks abroad might really hate us" were seen as nasty and unwelcome.

And for this reason the Feds were more or less ordered from the outset to declare that this Was Not Terrorism --indeed that the word even be used was more or less off-limits.

And for this reason I think we are bound for at least a 4-year track of the same thing.
