Obama Renews Openness About His Muslim Roots Ahead of Egypt Speech

President Obama has spoken proudly of American Muslims, even referencing his heritage as the son of a Muslim man, ahead of his highly anticipated speech Thursday in Cairo aimed at shoring up relations between the U.S. and the Muslim world.

Obama's openness about his own Muslim heritage may seem startling after his presidential campaign last year went to great lengths to debunk false rumors about his religion -- he is Christian -- but the president showed long ago that he is comfortable talking about his roots, which are addressed in his two biographical books, "Dreams From My Father" and "The Audacity of Hope."

Now, Obama appears to be citing those roots as a tool for encouraging more moderate elements of Islamic society to rise up and ally with the United States.

He referred to his childhood in Indonesia in an interview with the BBC ahead of his trip. Adviser Denis McDonough did the same on Friday.

He is now saying his daddy was a muslim, but till now he claimed otherwise. When will he admit he’s really not an American?

We will see what he says in Cairo. If he’s going to say that America hasn’t lived up to highest ideals, and that he’s sorry that America doesn’t understand the Muslim world, or that kind of thing, I will be very frustrated with him.

Bottom line - no apologies should be given for our culture, our freedoms, our response to September 11th.

Maybe we don’t understand the Muslim world, but they sure as H$*** don’t understand us. And they sure as H$*$*$ don’t approve of us. They sure as H$($($ don’t want to understand us. Why should we bend over backward to understand them?

Didn’t Reagan say something to the effect that he would rather America be feared and respected than liked and bullied around?

“even referencing his heritage as the son of a Muslim man”

Class, what’s a murtad fitri?

http://www.al-islam.org/short/apostasy/5.htm

The punishment prescribed by the shari`ah for apostasy is death.

Even the terms used by the shari`ah for apostates give the idea of treason to this whole phenomenon. “Murtad” means apostate. Murtad can be of two types: fitri and milli.

(1) “Murtad Fitri” means a person who is born of a Muslim parent and then he rejects Islam. “Fitrah” means creation. The term “murtad fitri” implies that the person has apostated from the faith in which he was born.

(2) “Murtad Milli” means a person who converted to Islam and then later on he rejects Islam. Milli is from millat which means religion. The term “murtad milli” implies that the person has apostated from his religion and the Muslim community.

In the first case, the apostasy is like the treason against God; whereas in the second case, the apostasy is like the treason against the Muslim community. Probably, that is why the Sh`iah jurisprudence deals with these two kinds of murtads differently:

· A former kãfir who became a Muslim and then apostates (murtad milli), he is given a second chance: if he repents, then he is not to be killed; but if he does not repent, then he is to be killed.

· But one who is born as a Muslim and then apostates (murtad fitri), he is to be killed even if he repents. It is important to understand that in case a murtad fitri repents, Allãh may accept his repentance and he may be forgiven in the hereafter, but he still has to go through the punishment prescribed for his treason in this world.[7]

This punishment is only applicable in case of apostasy by men; in case of women, the punishment is not death but life imprisonment. And if such a woman repents, then her repentance is accepted and the punishment is lifted.

....................

Barack Hussain Obama was born of a Muslim parent and now claims to not be a Muslim, but a Christian. Given the shari’a rules outlined above, what will he say when speaking in front of a mosque where no kafir (non-muslim) has ever spoken?

What bargaining position does he hope to have with Muslims, if they view him as a murtad fitri?

This is going to be very interesting to see what he has to say and what the reaction is.

He is someone who will say or do anything. I am not so certain that he has any real convictions

No, in Dreams of My Father he spoke of his dad’s religion.

He is an expert practitioner of taqiyya. His fellow muslims should admire him for that!

He has publicly claimed not to be, and has declared himself to be a Christian.

When faced with, say, King Abdullah (a person whom he has bowed to) and asked “are you Muslim or Christian?” the issue of words and Murtad Fitri will, I’m sure, be foremost in his mind.

I’m too terrified to enjoy the popcorn. I may not like his policies, but he is the Present of the United States, and this could work out badly.

lol! Good point, but if he convinces the imams of this, his gig at home will be in peril. He can’t handle that in private.

A classic example of a politician.

Using other people/religions/whatever to get elected.

He used “Christianity” (btw that is Jesus Christ) in order to get votes.

What a POS.

My thoughts exactly. He whips out the Muslim thing when it’s politically convenient, and covers it when it’s not.

he is Christian...

Unless Jesus hates white people, Jeremiah Wright's church was not in any meaningful sense Christian.

The muzzies worldwide know he is one of them and consider Americans MORONS for believing HUSSEIN is a Christian.

They would be correct, at least about the majority who voted for this red crypto-muslim bastard.
