Yes, exactly ... Bubba had an out of control and giddy Dem Congress in his first two years and recognized as much, and that said out of control Congress would put a crimp on his 'legacy'. I'm speculating here of course, but my guess is that Bill almost took a sigh of relief when Newt's Congress of 1995 came to power. Bubba took it as an opportunity to cement his 'legacy', and so he did.

Obama has this same situation -- an out of control Dem Congress -- however, the only difference is that Obama doesn't care about his 'legacy', only that he's currently President ... big difference.

My guess, and speculating again, is that its gonna be the Dem Congress and liberals who turn on Obama first ... Pubbies just need to hold their ground and sit back and watch (with lots of popcorn, of course :)

Of course if this had come out BEFORE November 4th, 2008, it would have put the kibosh on all the Hillary-worshipers deciding to vote for Obama, wouldn't it?

I am not sure that they are as jealous as they are fearful. Nancy Pelosi was practically licking Obama’s boots when she was in hot water over the waterboarding. (no pun intended)
The Dems seem to be overly deferential to Obama. I don't think that it is respect or jealousy, but fear that motivates them. Most have been in DC far longer than he has and should be far more street wise than he is, but he seems to trump them in DC street savvy. Whoever controls Obama is a very formidable and frightening entity. Decades of Washington power doesn't seem to be a match.

I think the President underestimates the Clintons. Perhaps it was a calculated move on his part, but I can’t imagine the scenario under which it makes sense as a premeditated move. More likely, he was careless. I do not credit him with being as smart as others believe.

Regardless, the Clintons must hate him. Heaven help this President if they gain the upper hand on him, which I consider well within the realm of possibility.

This President is waaaaay overextended and overexposed. He has spent down all of his enormous political capital at once. If anything goes amiss, he is vulnerable, and the Clintons will take advantage ...

Never before in the history of our great Republic there has been a President or even a national political figure who lies all the time, lies with incredible shamelessness, and lies with shocking brazenness, as Obama does.

FDR did. And so did Clinton IMO.
