McCain joins Obama's call for 'nuclear-free world' ["that is my dream"] [McBama barf alert]

WASHINGTON (AFP) — Republican Senator John McCain on Wednesday joined his former rival President Barack Obama in calling for a nuclear-free world, a goal previously formulated by former president Ronald Reagan.

During a lengthy speech on the Senate floor marking the unveiling of a statue of Reagan in the Capitol, the veteran Arizona lawmaker recalled how his "personal hero" had dreamed of a world free of nuclear weapons.

"That is my dream too," McCain said.

"This is a distant and difficult goal. And we must proceed toward it prudently and pragmatically, and with a focused concern for our security and the security of allies who depend on us."

. . . . .

Obama welcomed McCain's comments.

"I have outlined an ambitious strategy for promoting arms control and preventing nuclear terrorism and proliferation, which is already bearing fruit," the president said in statement.

"I look forward to working with Senator McCain and the entire Congress to ensure that we accomplish these goals together for the American people and the security of the entire planet."

Yes, Reagan sought a nuke-free world, but with America in the position of strength. 0bama wants us on our knees.

I don’t think betrayal is in John’s vocabulary. He seems to do it without the slightest bit of comprehension as to what he is doing.

Not only is it a sign of something seriously wrong with a political system, but with the society at large - believing that putting the Genie back into the bottle is possible is a sign of mental problems.

“Ok, Mr. McCain has now officially disgraced himself. “

He did that a LONG time ago.

He is entitled to a substantial amount of respect on account of his service to this nation, substantially above and beyond the call of duty, in Vietnam. However, with this stupidity he has now officially (in my view) used that respect up. He is now just another stupid git, who should have quit while he was ahead.

I think this quote really tells us who John McCain is...a guy who will deceive any of us to get what he wants. McCain is loyal to one thing..himself.

He actually said this just a few days ago:

“President Reagan granted amnesty to two million people and that was wrong,” McCain said.

He also states on his reelection website that he is against Amnesty.

We had NO good choices in '08 - this just reinforces what I said then, and still believe.

God help us all, and forgive this country for its choices.

I think this is just more obambie deliberately pissing off conservatives. McCain is just along for the ride as he has been for the last couple of decades.
