The Obamas turn up in Paris this evening, but have declined a dinner invitation from the couple next door: the Sarkozys.
President Obama’s reluctance to spend more than minimum time with the French leader on his visit for the D-Day anniversary has come as an embarrassment to the Elysée Palace.
America’s First Family will not be dining with President Sarkozy and his wife, Carla Bruni, even though they are staying at the residence of the US Ambassador, yards from the Elysée apartments where the Sarkozys spend their weekends.
Mr Sarkozy’s staff were trying yesterday to arrange another private moment between the couples. Mr Obama is due to fly back to Washington tomorrow night or on Sunday.
Mr Sarkozy’s dream date would be dinner somewhere spectacular such as the Jules Verne, an Alain Ducasse restaurant on the Eiffel Tower. The Obamas were reported on French celebrity websites to be planning a meal there.
A glamorous joint outing might be compared with the ones that President de Gaulle undertook with John and Jackie Kennedy in 1961. On that trip, Mrs Kennedy was such a hit that JFK presented himself as “the man who accompanied Jackie Kennedy to Paris”.
Failure to socialise with the Obamas will add to mockery that has greeted Mr Sarkozy’s attempts to stage the 65th anniversary of D-Day as a “Barack and Sarko show”. The media and Opposition have mocked Mr Sarkozy over Mr Obama’s coolness towards him, which is only partly due to his handling of the Normandy commemoration.
Mr Sarkozy has been pilloried in France for his failure to invite the Queen to the events. “The palace is fearing a snub,” Le Parisien newspaper said yesterday after the news emerged of the Obamas’ plans to keep themselves to themselves.

Isn’t that the truth. Seriously. Clinton all but destroyed respect for the Oval Office, and Obama has all but destroyed reverence for the U.S. Constitution.
At then end of Obama’s first term this will have been the most destructive twenty years in our nation’s history. It will have been facilitated from inside, by both parties. When it comes to Obama though, he has found a way to facilitate damage on a exponential scale.

Last time I checked, Normandy, and Omaha Beach are in France. Sarko is the President of France. To diss him in such a manner is a statement of the classless manner in which Obama runs his show.
And it is his show, with him as the focus, and him as the center.
That is why no dinner with the President and Madame Sarkozy... all eyes are always on Carla. She has become a beloved figure in France, and she certainly is gorgeous.
That is why no Queen Elizabeth at the D Day ceremonies. Wherever she goes, she steals the thunder. She is an iconic figure in France.
There is also a political component to all this. Sarko is a man of the Right who is trying to keep Islam at bay in his own country, and in the EU. Obama is a hard core leftist intent on bringing in the Socialism that Sarko is trying to get rid of in France. As we saw today, Obama is trying to bring Islam in.
So, the cheese stands alone.
The Jules Verne in the Eiffel Tower is one of the top tourist traps in Paris. Although the view is spectacular, and the food good, it is the sort of glitzy, inauthentic Parisian restaurant that rich yuppie Americans and rich Araba and Japanese frequent.
French people, even very rich, chic people, never dine there.
Sarky’s protocol staff is second only to Obama’s protocol staff. Who is running the show, Goldie Hawn?

Embarrass Western white culture at every chance.

Obama does not like conservatives. They cause him to question his core beliefs . Rather than face the possibility that he has wasted his life following dead end ideas he fears and hates those people who threaten to shatter his imaginary little world. This is why he got rid of the bust of Churchill and labels conservatives as terrorists. Its because in his sick twisted mind we do cause him terror. This is also why Obama gave a short visit to the conservative Sarkozy.
A real President would forget about personal slights and think about his country.
Sarko and Carla should be relieved they didn’t have to spend an evening with Barack and Michelle.

It is also a major diplomatic faux pas by Obama. You don't bypass the head of state when you are in his country.
In Obama's speech in Cairo, he made a veiled slam against France when he said, "Likewise, it is important for Western countries to avoid impeding Muslim citizens from practicing religion as they see fit - for instance, by dictating what clothes a Muslim woman should wear."
Obama is a lightweight and an embarrassment.
“advance the people’s business” has never been an Obama goal. More likely, plant moles in all offices of government to leak and wreck havoc, steal America’s wealth due to our economic crisis and move it out into some place out of reach of the taxpayer and stove up his empire.
I do not think anything is out of bounds for that group.

You are very correct here. France does prohibit what they call “ostentatious religious dress” in public places.
As an American who believes strongly in the 1st amendment, I have a problem with this. It would ban a Jewish man from wearing a yarmulker (sp?) to school or work in a governmnet job, a woman from wearing a large cross necklace, or an Islamic woman from wearing a headscarf.
I can understand prohibiting the covering of the face. The French see the headscarf as a political statement.
So, you are correct, Obama hates Sarko because he is a conservative, and hates the French for banning the headscarf in public establishmnents.
