Former Vice President Al Gore may be sent to North Korea to negotiate the release of two American journalists on trial, the AFP reported.
Laura Ling and Euna Lee, reporters for Gore's California-based Current TV, were arrested March 17 near the North Korean border while on a reporting trip to China on charges they entered the country illegally and engaged in "hostile acts" — allegations that could draw a 10-year sentence in a labor camp.
State Department spokesman Ian Kelly did not rule out the possibility of Gore being sent when asked if it would make sense for him to go.
"It's a very, very sensitive issue, I'm not going to go into it," Kelly told reporters. "This is such a sensitive issue, I'm just not going to go into those kinds of discussions that we may or may not have had," he said about whether Gore himself had raised the matter with the State Department.

Oh great, North Korea is going to experience record breaking cold, most probably ice age weather. That, coupled with their already “wonderful” crop harvest doesn’t bode well for them.
Still no idea how he’s going to help release them.. threaten them with including them in the list of horrible carbon making nations?

And to let then know he is on THEIR side in denouncing all the “greedy” folks in the US and Europe for causing “Global Warming/Cooling/Humidifying/deHumidifying/Climate McChange-a-lot”
The Republicans really only have to do the political equivalent of walking and chewing gum at the same time and they’re in next year. The Dems simply can’t help themselves—they HAVE to take advantage of this political climate and trash the US before they do anything else. The voters will see it all for themselves, they won’t need negative ads to educate them about the Dems’ true hearts.
What took him so long. He’s been silent on these captures for all this time.

I was just going to say something similar. Maybe we could PAY them to hold onto him?
They are journalists. The Norks can keep them and Al Gore can stay in NoKo because we don't want him back either.
