Wrong Place, Wrong Time For OSU Stabbing Victim (perp hides in mosque)
The Lantern ^ | 6/4/09 | Collin Binkley

A female Ohio State student was trying to catch a bus to class Tuesday afternoon when she became the victim of a random stabbing.

Police say the 20-year-old student was walking down Stinchcomb Drive near Buckeye Village at 12:55 p.m. when she was stabbed by 34-year-old Wael W. Kalash. Witnesses said Kalash had been walking up and down the street exhibiting "bizarre" behavior before the stabbing occurred.

"There's no connection between the victim and him other than she was at the wrong place at the wrong time, it was a completely random act," said Det. Jay Fulton of the Columbus Division of Police homicide unit.

Witnesses said that Kalash, a resident of Stinchcomb Drive, walked up to the student and stabbed her once in the abdomen with a knife. The student described the weapon as a kitchen-type knife bigger than a steak knife but smaller than a bread knife.

While an ambulance took the student to Riverside Hospital to undergo surgery, officers saturated the area looking for the assailant. They soon found Kalash inside a nearby mosque at 535 Riverview Dr., where witnesses positively identified him as the assaulter. Kalash was arrested for felonious assault and is being held at Franklin County Jail on $750,000 bond.

Neighbors of Kalash said he has a history of "strange behavior," and Fulton said he may be mentally ill.

"He didn't make a lot of sense when we tried to talk to him," Fulton said. "He exhibited a lot of signs of some mental instability or some mental issues."

Fulton said Kalash also has a history of violent offenses.

I lived in an apartment complex less than a mile from this mosque. We call the area “Little Baghdad”. It was the scariest place I ever lived. No one made me feel welcomed, to put it mildly. Often it was impossible to get home due to the overwhelming amount of traffic at the mosque. The guy who shot the Army recruiters may have studied at that mosque, also. Talk about hitting close to home!

"Actually I do not think this is "WRONG PLACE AT WRONG TIME""

I'm sure she is mistaken-- this was purely random-- the MSM has declared it so. The police have declared it so. There isn't even any connection between Wael Kalesh and Islam. Anyone can commit a crime and then hide in a mosque. Soon that will be the preferred hiding place because there will be "special protections" in place-- and those who would deny a mosque as a hiding place will be punished. /extreme sarcasm

Isn't harboring a fugitive a crime? Give them five minutes to give the perps up, and if it expires go in with tear gas and charge everyone present.

I think it is time to at least put on the table of discussion the deportation/exile of Mohammedans who do not take an oath refuting the violent passages found in the Koran.

I know we have freedom of religion and freedom of speech but this “religion” is proving itself incapable of doing anything but causing continuous problems and is incompatible with American culture. We should amend the constitution and deny citizenship, immigratation visas, student visas, and tourist visas to Mohammedans.

I know only a small percentage of Mohammedans are causing the big problems but they do not police their own and it is very dangerous and costly for us to do it.

He has emboldened blacks that voted for him along with Muslims.

I would not associate blacks who voted for Obama with this violence any more than I would want anybody associating me with the murder of Dr. Tiller just because I'm opposed to abortion.

When are people who get attacked get po’d enough to just slug these maggots one?

Bundy was stopped because one woman had the guts to fight back. If she hadn’t, she would be dead and Bundy would be free to merrily kill again.

When are people going to stop feeling fear and start to get pissed? Forgive my vulgarity, but it’s infuriating, this learned helplessness.

A random act? Either these cops ain’t got a clue or they think we are all stupid. Is this the mosque that this guy who gunned down the soldier attended if so sounds like someone should take action against it, because the LEA is not-

It probably has less to do with the ROP than with mental illness. Or more specifically, our legal/medical system’s stubborn refusal to lock up people who are obviously dangerously mentally ill. This sort of thing happens fairly often, and rarely involved perps associated with the ROP. It usually involves perps with a documented history of schizophrenia or other severe mental illness, in most cases, also with a documented history of violent outbursts.

I'd like to support you if you're thinking of running for office.

This is the same mosque that is being investigated by the FBI for links to the Arkansas shooting

Agree 100%.
Their presence brings virtually nothing to this country except for greater law enforcement costs and increased likelihood of extreme violence in the name of so-called religion.

Unfortunately, this kind of nonsense from Attorney General Eric Holder only serves to embolden them.
