I hope and pray that we will see monumental changes in 2010.

Using a vote for Moran as a strategy to put their weakest candidate (which he is) on the ballot is one thing. But if guns rights advocates think Brian Moran is their friend, they're misinformed.

In his own words: Moran calls Deeds Gun Views Very Extreme

Fair warning, it's a link to a Virginia Democrat's blog, but here's the quote from Moran about Deeds:

Well, it's extreme. He's the only Democrat who's ever received an endorsement from the NRA since 1989, I mean that's different from Warner, Kaine or myself or Jim Webb... There are some positions where I believe he's taken extreme positions. He voted against my legislation to keep guns out of the hands of those convicted of stalking and domestic abuse. He also voted against one gun a month, which was Doug Wilder's legislation. He also voted for guns in bars and family restaurants. That puts him on a very extreme position, and we're educating the voters with respect to that extreme position on guns.

As I've said several times, vote for Moran as a strategy during the primary. But he's not your friend in the general.

I think Deeds is truly conservative on guns. I don’t think he is the liberal that Cain is. I’ll be so glad when Cain is gone. I think it is good for Virginia if Deeds gets the Dem nomination.

It looks pretty good. I think this time Virginia is doing OK. The GOP has a good slate of candidates and the Dems seem not to be so liberal. That is if Deeds wins the Dem primary.
