PARIS – President Barack Obama spent a few hours as a tourist this weekend, seeing Paris with his wife and two young girls after his trip to the Middle East, Germany and the beaches of Normandy.

Obama grumbled about his busy schedule on Saturday in Caen, France.
"I would love nothing more than to have a leisurely week in Paris, stroll down the Seine, take my wife out to a nice meal, have a picnic in Luxembourg Gardens. Those days are over, for the moment," Obama said to laughter.
Obama called French President Nicholas Sarkozy a friend and said the pair can pick up the phone and chat anytime.

Going to Normandy would have been the highlight for me.
My daughter was in France a few years back and brought me back some sand from Omaha Beach.

Obama said the executives at those companies who have taken federal loans should act responsibly with the tax payers’ money, chiding Wall Street executives who sought multimillion dollar bonuses and the leaders of Detroit’s Big Three automakers who last week flew to Washington aboard private jets to ask Congress for a bailout.
He called the automaker executives “tone deaf” to the concerns of the American people.
Weeks away from his inauguration, Obama stressed to Walters the importance of personal, corporate and civic accountability in light of the cratering economy and said his presidency would be a return to “the ethic of responsibility.”
Obama said “captains of industry” on Wall Street and in Detroit who took advantage of corporate perks while their companies benefited from government loans paid for with taxpayers’ money, don’t have “any perspective on what’s happening to ordinary Americans.”

Has anyone ever reported that he and his family ever took a normal vacation, besides maybe to Hawaii, before he miraculously became Our King? This is not a normal family. Now we are entertaining them on our dime. I’m surprised he hasn’t declared that Disneyworld needs to shut down for the day to accommodate them.

I’m wondering he same thing. Of course, we’re allowed to learn so little of obama’s history that we would never know.
