White House Advisers Push Back on Stimulus Criticism
FOXNews ^ | June 07, 2009 | FOXNews

It is expected to announce plans Monday to speed up the release of remaining stimulus funds over the next 100 days by targeting the best places to spend the cash.

To the naysayers, White House advisers are urging patience and asking them to look on the bright side of the stats.

"It's a substantial improvement from what the job losses have been," White House economic adviser Austan Goolsbee, told "FOX News Sunday," noting that the 345,000 jobs lost in May was far less than in prior months. "That's the smallest job loss since September of last year."

Senior White House adviser David Axelrod told CBS' "Face the Nation" the economy is showing clear signs of improvement.

"The hopeful thing about those numbers was that the job loss in the last month was considerably less than it had been in previous months and considerably less than had been expected. ... There are signs of progress," he said. "The stimulus itself has produced hundreds of thousands of jobs and projects all over this country. And it is just gaining momentum now. So I believe that it will be part of that solution as we proceed through the next few months."

Economists said in February when the stimulus passed that job growth would probably lag behind overall recovery, and Axelrod attempted to remind critics of those forecasts.

The White House ‘pushing back’ was a given.
Reality does not fit into their programmed logic of denial.

The choices are bleak and getting bleaker.
No job or a government job - for those of the right persuasion/color/minority group and political views. Just like the Soviet Union.

This is a disaster.
It will take a RADICAL change to fix this mess.

Amazing, but once spent, then what? The economy recovers never to fail again?

It will not only take radical changes to fix what Barry has screwed up and shredded in less than 200 days in office, it will take decades.

I think the Monty Python Dead Parrot skit could apply. The economy’s not dead, it’s only “pining for the fjords.”

Ummmm, isn’t that like saying when the jug is near empty from leaking for days “It’s only dripping 4 drops an hour instead of 20 like yesterday! Good news!”

This administration reminds me of Jeff Dunhams terrorist puppet, saying “Silence, I kill you”. LOL

Goolsbee was still blaming the Bush Administration for the GM problem. At some point in time they will have to quit using that lame crutch.

So they are running with this number? Take a look a what the BLS said about May. Anything look odd? The number of unemployed persons increased by 787,000 to 14.5 million in May, and the unemployment rate rose to 9.4 percent.

Porkulus jobs created are a statistical speed bump compared to overall employment picture.

You can take a turd and spray it with Chanel and put it into a pretty package and wrap it with a silk bow... but it is still a smelly, filthy turd.

Sadly, we’ll likely never know what may have happened had the gubmint just stayed out of it. I have my suppositions, but there will be no tangible evidence that can be cited in the next economic crisis, other than the fuzzy math and feel good politics of the DhimmiRat LibTards in this one, The Raw Deal.

It’s time to take back the country.

A recent figure I saw stated that the average new government job created in the new administration paid over $78,000. The median family income in 2008 was $50,233. At these wages, in order to create one federal job, the entire income of about 1 ½ families must be taxed out of the economy. At this rate, a politician who claims he created 20,000 new federal jobs is telling us that he destroyed the jobs of 30,000 US families to pay for them.

“The number of unemployed persons increased by 787,000 to 14.5 million
in May, and the unemployment rate rose to 9.4 percent. Since the start
of the recession in December 2007, the number of unemployed persons has
risen by 7.0 million, and the unemployment rate has grown by 4.5 percent-
age points. (See table A-1.)”

WHOA!! That IS pure propaganda!!! What is the difference in “lost 345,000 jobs last month” to “unemployed persons rose by 787,000 in May”

WTF?
