Remember the old truism that President Bush played chess while his enemies played checkers? It's obviously still true. He has a perspective that goes far beyond the moment, and he has the character to keep his mouth shut when that is the appropriate thing to do.

Anyone who thinks he hasn't approved of Dick Cheney's defense of the Bush administration record is lacking understanding of who these two men are.
