Palin beginning to irritate some Senate GOPers

Sarah Palin has begun to get on the nerves of Republican senators who say the former GOP vice presidential nominee is taking her own White House aspirations entirely too seriously.

But those same senators may have their eye on a 2012 White House run or be friends with senators with presidential ambitions. And Palin, who does not have a lot of Washington connections, energized the party’s grass roots in 2008 while bucking the D.C. establishment, leaving much of the party’s elite grumbling about her appeal to the conservative base.

Several GOP senators offered searing criticism of the Alaska governor when asked in recent interviews whether she could pose a credible challenge to President Obama in 2012.

“She has to hunker down and govern and show she’s not a joke,” said a GOP lawmaker who represents one of the southern battlegrounds of the 2012 election.

[...]

Another GOP senator, who endorsed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) early in the 2008 primary, argues Palin would face a lot of difficulty raising money. He said she had little appeal among the major fundraisers who made up McCain’s financial base.

“I don’t see her being a candidate in 2012,” said the lawmaker. “I don’t think she has the financial base to run. I don’t think she can convert the McCain fundraisers to her camp.

“You need to be able to raise $500 million or you’re not even in the game.

[...]

One GOP senator questioned whether Palin has enough gravitas for voters to trust her in tough economic times.

“If the economy implodes, I don’t see her as having much of a chance,” said the lawmaker, who noted that Palin’s national political ambitions have caused her political troubles at home. “She has also taken on water up there in Alaska.”

They may be making nice up at the fundraiser tonight but these disgusting, anonymous cowards hate her (and us) with the passion of a 1000 suns. I hate what the GOP has become.

I hate what the GOP has become.

When I get their appeals in the mail for money, I send it back (on their nickel) with shredded paper in it along with a note that says "the party's over."

They hate her because she is not so willing to compromise her positions and they have fallen in love with the words bi partisan.

The socialicans in the GOP blue-blood establishment had better watch themselves. Palin could destroy just about any one of them. They’d better get on board.

That’s because these RINOS are jealous of what she has achieved: setting the world on fire by getting the conservative base excited and giving McRino the lift he needed in the elections.
20,000 who showed up in a small town in NY on the weekend just to see her aint no joke.

Now which of these “GOP senators” can do that? I rest my case...

Hmmm, I wonder...is this McCain, Lindsey Graham, or someone else?

Lindsay Graham.

John Cornyn, perhaps?

One GOP senator questioned whether Palin has enough gravitas for voters to trust her in tough economic times.

This could be anyone speaking. And that's the frightening part. I'd put a dollar down on Mel Martinez though.

RINO’s can go find a hole somewhere to crawl into. They don’t like Sarah because she has more gonads than they do and she doesn’t suck up to Liberals.

These senators and the others who are currently running the Republican party are straight out of Dante’s inferno.

They would rather rule a minority than serve in a majority.

They are no better than demoncrps, they put everything ahead of country.

Palin needs to get the message Conservatives are not welcome in the increasingly socialist OP. She can only advance conservative principles by leaving the OP.

I'm with Sarah.

Had to turn off CNN whilst watching these gutless stuffed shirts congratulate each other for "the remarkable work they're doing up on Capitol Hill".
Gutter Puke.

Sarah's got more guts on her shoes (literally) then the entire GOP has in their bellies.

Sessions and McCain the only ones with the gonads to make their feelings known?
The GOP is screwing itself. What a waste. Throw them all out.
