Europe asks: Does tomorrow belong to us?
Washington Times ^ | June 9, 2009 | Tony Blankley

Posted on 06/09/2009 9:02:31 AM PDT by La Lydia

The weekend's European Parliament and British local county council elections were not only a victory for the center-right over the center-left. More significantly, they were indications of the growing rejection of the last 60 years of denationalized and consolidating European history. They were, particularly, a sharp assertion by many indigenous Europeans that they will not put up with losing their culture to overly assertive Islamic or other immigrants in Europe. The latter point was made most emphatically by the voters of Holland, Hungary, Finland, Britain, Austria, Denmark and Italy...

But the loudest vox populi was heard in Britain...

The UKIP's stated purpose is that the United Kingdom "shall again be governed by laws made to suite its own needs by its own Parliament, which must be directly and solely accountable to the electorate of the U.K."

Sunday night, the BNP's Nick Griffin claimed his party's victory as a vindication of the party's claim that "we're here to look after our people because no one else is." He went on to condemn the "liberal elite which has built a dam, a wall of lies which has grown ever taller and ever thicker over the years to stop ordinary people protesting about the removal of their freedom." He added: "Well, tonight, that wall has been broken down. ..."

In my book, "The West's Last Chance," I warned after coming back from extended field research in Europe that if the respectable political parties would not address the growing, legitimate concern of indigenous Europeans to protect their culture from being overwhelmed, disreputable parties would arise to answer that call...

"We're here to look after our people because no one else is." Precisely. The first responsibility of any government is to look after the interests of its people -- not the interests of people whose allegiance is elsewhere. And with the Consent of the Governed.

It’s scary to think that the message that needs to be gotten out is “Germany awake!” and likewise for the other European countries. But the prospect of Eurabia is scarier.

The “people” are an enemy to their power. But the times are a changing and soon enough the people who have used the scare words such as “racist” are going to find themselves in the dock, and power will shift.

And how bad has it gotten that a similar cry of “Finland Awake” is reverberating as well? Italy’s Northern League is to me one of the most interesting. And I wonder if such a movement will ever develop here, or are we resigned to our fate?

this is what you get when the mainstream parties (moderate left and right) contine to ignore the will of the people (as they have done the last 20 years) on immigration. people are more and more forced to vote more “fascist” parties because they look like they only way to stop muslim immigration. very very sad but true.

There was a lesson that too many american jews didn’t take from the assasination of more Jewish than Thou Meyer Kahane. When he was killed back in 1990/91 or so in NY/NJ— it was not by an american conservative/mccarthyite/christian/northern european type but rather by a moslem.

Words like "racist", "sexist", etc, are losing their power as more people stop caring.

I hope that Europe continues to rediscover what they have lost.

Sadly, if native Europeans want to have a chance to reclaim their heritage, it will require blood at this point. There are too many radical interlopers among them who have glimpsed victory in the distance to prevent that now. The islamo-nazis will fight. The question is, will the Europeans have enough left to defeat them?

Exactly. People turn instinctively toward radical 'fascist' parties when the mainstream parties prove incapable of thwarting internal and external enemies that threaten the people directly.

Perhaps they will, but will we discover that the Trojan Horse is here, and well? What has to happen to us before we discover that Americans are a different breed of cats, and we will take back our country.

The will not just have to fight the Islamo-nazis, but the Fifth Column multi-culturalists within their own society. These people hate themselves and will happily destroy their culture to atone for the imaginary sins of their forefathers.

Europe has long experienced single-digit fringe votes of the left and right. But as the hard-edged BNP approaches 10 percent and only slightly milder other parties approach 20 percent - the historically volatile European mix of nationalism and race may be building once again.

It would be nice to see this sort of thing here. Any mention of 3rd party seems to get such vociferous condemnation, but "change" (pardon the word) has to start somewhere.

The bottom line is that every one is equal in the eyes of the law. Somehow, this equation changed.....mostly due to guilt over slavery (in the US) and over colonialism (in Europe) and some people became ‘more equal’ than others. This guilt has unfortunaely inspired people to lose their sense of right and wrong, to mistake aggressive behavior with culture, and to mistake violence with debate.

Certainly Muslims should be respected (as all people should) but, it is non-sense that honor killings and other forms of Sharia law have somehow inched their way into ‘acceptable’ forms of culture.

Mostly, many Muslims need a serious education in the practice of free speech. Yes, people!!! Islam can be criticized as can Christianity, the Police, the Prime Minister, and school down the corner. The correct response is to address the criticism with words of your own...not, to kill the critic (I’m thinking about Van Gough and those Muhammed cartoons, specifically).

The elecetions in Europe, to me, indicate that people are just about done feeling guilty about the transgresions of years ago. It’s now the future.

Two aspects to this little phenomenon that occur - first, that it isn't too late for a political renascence in terms of nationalism, but it may be too late to enforce it, and second, that we need not fear the start of violence on the issue any more than we do now, because the violence has already started.

There is an aspect to this that states that because previous European wars were nationalistic in character, nationalism is always wrong. It can certainly get out of control, and has. But so can aggressive, militant immigration whose purpose is not to assimilate, but to conquer. The tendency of the multicultis is to avoid the issue by expanding the definition of the nation to include either all of Europe or all of the world. But calling that fellow with an AK-47 your brother doesn't necessarily make him so; him calling himself your master does if he's willing to use violence to settle the issue and you're not.
