Is there not some place in the badland for bad people to be left for punishment??
If the Cubans have been reduced to spying on South Dakota I’d say we have them on the ropes.
Stake them out on an ant hill.
Communist agents in South Dakota?
That sounds like an Alan Arkin movie. It's worse than Joe McCarthy thought!
Wasn't Abourezk knee-deep in that whole Wounded Knee business years ago? He was a bit of nutball.
“If the Cubans have been reduced to spying on South Dakota Id say we have them on the ropes.”
No doubt. Being from Huron I can imagine the reports.
Comrades, the alfalfa is poor this year, and the pheasant limit is down to 4 cocks, 1 hen. Clearly this is our time to strike.

Oh, and “Comrades its freaking freezing in the winter. Get me the hell out of here and back to Havana NOW!”
Oh, well, there's still time.
Abourezk is the poster boy as to why direct election of U.S. Senators is a lousy idea. After a single term in the house, Abourezk ran for the senate in 1972 and won because South Dakotans were guilt-tripped about not voting for George McGovern, the other senator, for president. So it was essetially a consolation prize so McGovern wouldn’t feel bad about losing his home state. Abourezk did such a lousy job in the U.S. Senate that he decided not to run for reelection.
