Weekly Standard: The Obama Justice Department has quietly ordered FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high value detainees captured and held at U.S. detention facilities in Afghanistan, according a senior Republican on the House Intelligence Committee.

But, in March 2009, Obama told '60 Minutes' the following: "Now, do these folks deserve Miranda rights? Do they deserve to be treated like a shoplifter down the block? Of course not."

If you mirandize them they will not talk unless they have a lawyer present. The lawyer will advise them to say absolutely nothing. So they say nothing and we get absolutely no intelligence from them. They will simply clog up the justice system with court trials and not help us one bit. And their training will be changed to reflect this new awareness.

The soldiers also know this. Since the detainees will provide no information, there is no benefit to sending them to the rear for interrogation. Guess what will happen?
