Not that we shouldn't be concerned about our planet, but this has to be one of the worst examples of Global-Warming hype I've seen.

There are no definite facts to support the articles dire claim of the "greatest human migration in history."

Everything is built upon a plethora of "Estimates" - "coulds" - "could be's" - "potentials" - "likely's" and "possibles".

Bill Moyers, a master of liberal propaganda and half-truths presented as facts, would be proud of the way the report makes something out of nothing.

The "migrations" the article cites: flooding in the Ganges, Mekong, Yangtze and Yellow river basins - Mexico and Central America drought and hurricanes - have been going on since before human history, not the 1980's as the report claims. It is non-evidence that has been used to bolster a report based on nothing.

The report says that the "International Organization for Migration" did not try to assess conflicts caused by climate change. No wonder. There is nothing to assess.

It ends with "Most migration will be internal, from the country to the city." - Duh !!!! Tell us something new. people have been migrating fro, rural to urban areas since civilization began.

You know, I saw this report at PhysOrg, and most of the comments were mocking the idea of anthropogenic global warming. And the polls tell the story - public opinion is moving to the skeptical side.

I think it's like politically correctness. At first it seemed like it was all about being nice to people, and so everybody loved it. Then they realized it was really about shutting down political debate, and now the majority of Americans loathe the idea.

Same with global warming. Everybody wants to save the planet. But people are realizing that the movement seems to be more about political power than science, and their opinions are changing.

“The report says that the “International Organization for Migration” did not try to assess conflicts caused by climate change.”

I suppose if climate change causes Islam, then climate change would be responsible for most of the wars on the planet right now. So maybe they are onto something.

If that's the case, why have 20 million Mexicans moved North?

The term you're looking for is "weasel words."

California has more Yankees, southerners, out of staters, foreigners and illegal aliens than Florida's entire population.

If 15 million left here tomorrow, I'd applaud.

Not true. The greatest human migration in history was the migration from Europe to America. In the future there may be migrations of larger numbers of people, but any of those larger migrations will not be greater than the migration from Europe to America.

The biggest thing global warming has changed...is that the concept has permanently separated a chunk of the population from the good brain and common sense they were born with.

Actually climate change will be a driver of millions toward the equator in the coming ice age. If we go further into a solar minimum as scientists that study long term sunspot cycles expect we may soon see significant Earth cooling. Long range weather forecasters are already predicting a very cool summer for the Midwest.

The ever so serious Bill Moyers learned from his antagonist back in the 60s, Walter Cronkite, that you can present 100% pure BS and get away with it, if you do it with the proper 'gravitas.'

People like Moyers, Cronkite, and his crazy successor, Dan Rather, are why I grew to hate the electronic media. I came to understand that they are basically celebrity idiots pushing an agenda that is not necessarily their own. They are a pack of Ted Knight's but sadly with influence over an generally uninformed audience.

Something like 50% of the population now get their only 'news' from TV 'Journalists'. That is a scary proposition be it an flake like Oberman or a flake like O'Rilley.

A good metaphor for anthropogenic global warming what impact do we have on a horse?
a) Can we affect the riding weight of the horse with a saddle, bridle & our own weight? can we bridle the weather?
- or -
b) is it’s impact that of a horse fly? sure, it has impact but how much?
