WASHINGTON As the health care debate heats up, the American Medical Association is letting Congress know that it will oppose creation of a government-sponsored insurance plan, which President Obama and many other Democrats see as an essential element of legislation to remake the health care system.

LOL. Well, you're going to have even less say in the future. The bills will be paid directly out of your paycheck.
Didn’t say AMA was a Pac but rather that they donate to liberals PACs.
I get weary from people fluttering their hospitalization bills in front of my nose complaining of the high cost of doctors, when the "doctor bill" is such a small part of the cost of a surgical/treatment at their hospitals. If you have a gall bladder taken out, look at the actual charge from the surgeon. It is a very small part of the total bill. Mostly you are paying to support the infrastructure, not the MD.
You didn't say anything that was documented, specific or accountable. 'Nuff said.
Yeah! Exactly!
It is a tragedy, a horror, to have all this skillful experience driven into retirement.
I’m surprised that leftist group is coming out against anything the one proposes. I left the AMA after medical school when I found out how far left they are. They make Chrissy Matthews look positively conservative.
Aint that the truth. Quantity does not equal quality. We have enough quality problems with some of the people getting into medical school now. The best and the brightest are wising up and not going into medicine where they will delay their earnings by several years, be regulated to death, and relatively underpaid compared to other professionals and even some skilled trades.
I will be one of them
Government Hospital Admission: Are you a Democrat? Yes, go to the front of the ten year line and wait for care. Are you a Republican? Just die already and give us all your money.
There that about sums it up.
You know what they call the guy who finished last in his class in medical school? (Doctor) Scary, isn’t it.
This likely signals that the “public option” is looking a lot worse that the insiders thought.
BTW, since the turn of the 20th century, national healthcare has been considered very seriously about every 10-20 years. Each time, most historians feel that doctors ultimately stopped it. They did not want to be “government employees”.
The chief lobbyists against releasing records of complaints against doctors is the AMA.
This admin is truly pathetic. But if you think about it, the pharma cos will not be able to make the meds we’ll need to sustain life. So, these docs that have their lips mighty puttied to the hindsides of the dems will see soon enough when one of their loved ones gets a devastating illness, and they are going to be left to die.
But - the sinister side of me believes that certain meds will be put in reserve for the admin and their families...and certain docs might get preferential treatment for themselves and their families if they keep their mouths shut about it!
I have no idea how many PACs AMA donate to (check your own state for libs running or who ran in last election) and you will notice AMA donating to their PACs. ‘nuff said
My doctor (whom I love) told me last time I was in — “Do not join HMO!”
