"Youts of color" went on a rampage in Philly two weeks ago. The local MSM played it down, both the actions and the racial angle--in fact, they made excuses for the "youts"--"When summer comes and these kids don't have anything to do,this is to be expected, blah blah blah"--now we find out one of the victims, who was reported as merely "assaulted", was beaten within an inch of his life--and the guy in jail isn't a bored "yout" but an adult.

Many of the people who went to South and Broad Streets on the evening of May 30 appear to have been responding to text messages and online social networking sites, creating a type of spontaneous gathering known as a "flash mob."

The idiots probably didn't even think about the phone records. All it takes is for one of them to get busted, and his phone will lead the cops to all the rest.

Flash mobs used to be "performance art" with a couple hundred artsy-fartsy types showing up in a hotel lobby or somewhere and clapping for a minute and then dispersing.

When I read about this "flash mob" engaging in looting and assault, I was pretty sure they weren't the same artsy-fartsy hand clappers. And when I saw the footage, it only confirmed what I already knew.
