Don’t be too quick to assume he is in the right. A major cause of teachers getting fired is that they think their podium is a political soapbox to rant from, instead of a lectern to teach from. It doesn’t matter what their politics are, this irritates students and their parents like nothing else.

Some people are just incapable of shutting up and teaching. They are just itching to tell their students they have the wrong politics, the wrong religion, the wrong culture or ethnic group, and that whatever their parents believe is lies. They just can’t help themselves.

I know someone like this. There is no conversation you could possibly have with him, no subject on the planet, where he does not inject a comment related to his politics.

People like this have the mindset that you are entitled to their opinion, and they are quite possibly the most boring people around.
