TEHRAN, Iran — More than 100 reformists, including the brother of former Iranian president Mohammad Khatami, were arrested Saturday night, leading reformist Mohammad Ali Abtahi told Reuters.
"They were taken from their homes last night," former vice president Abtahi said.Authorities released the former president's brother, Mohammad Reza Khatami, on Sunday, his wife said. She said at least two other top leaders of Iran's largest reformist party, including the party's secretary-general, were also released early Sunday, but that others remained in custody.
Additional arrests were expected.
Iranian officials, however, disputed the claims and said the reformists were merely summoned and "warned not to increase tension." (snip)

A sure fire way for Mr. NutJob to consolidate the country is to divert attention away from the fraud and to “meddling” of the US. We are a hated wedge in that region and need to let these guys throw over their government without us involved.

The Mullahs, by so blatantly stealing this election to support the evil dwarf, Adolf Jr., has unmistakably exposed themselves for the corrupt, evil, tryrants they are. This has had the added benefit of splitting the ruling class and separating Rafsanjani's gang from the Mullahs.
It's like the perfect storm for blowing up a country. Most people aren't aware that Iran is 50% Persian and 50% other ethnic groups: Azeris, Arabs, Turkmen, Armenians, Kurds and others. It's like a mini-Soviet Union. Watch for the Azeri's or Kurd's to breakaway. They have the numbers, the will and the possibility of outside support from their ethnic Azeri and Kurd brothers. Then, you'll know this is serious.
As you can see he strongly supports the Islamic Republic of the Mullahs. He is essentially no different than Imanutjob except he tones the rhetoric down a bit.
Obama is getting a taste of his own medicine: corrupt, fraudulent election, demonization of opposition. Sound familiar? I wonder what the Iranian equivalent of ACORN is?

“Over the last six months, we have witnessed free and fair elections in Iraq and Lebanon, in which millions of people peacefully went to the polls, and in both cases, the Iranian-backed forces of extremism were decisively rejected at the ballot box.
“Unfortunately, on Friday, the Iranian people were denied this right, enjoyed by Iraqis and Lebanese and so many other peoples throughout the world, to determine the future of their country for themselves. Instead, through intimidation, violence, manipulation, and outright fraud, the Iranian regime has once again made a mockery of democracy, and confirmed its repressive and dictatorial character.
“We as Americans have a responsibility to stand in solidarity with people when they are denied their rights by repressive regimes. When elections are stolen, our government should protest. When peaceful demonstrators are beaten and silenced, we have a duty to raise our voices on their behalf. We must tell the Iranian people that we are on their side.
