From the article:
“The five classes were in the auditorium for a “film festival”, and were supposed to
watch “Camp Rock,” a Disney Channel movie starring the Jonas Brothers, according to a
letter Principal Robert A. Marchi sent home to parents the day of the incident.”
“A teacher powered up the DVD player, then walked away to get the G-rated disc.
But the decidedly un-Disney skin flick was already loaded into the machine
and began to play.”

That’s strange...
My DVD player will not automatically play a disc
unless you select ‘play’ from an on-screen menu.
Knowing that they're having 5 year olds spend their time at school watching inane garbage like Jonas Brothers movies isn't much more comforting than knowing we're paying teachers to watch porn when nobody is looking.

*nod* - Or the front-panel... oh, though there are some that play when you INSERT a disk, I’ve never heard of one that auto-plays when the disk is already loaded.

My player restarts automatically from the point where the disc was last stopped. Just turn it on and the movie plays.
Same here. But I think I've seen disks with previews for other movies that automatically start playing when the disk is inserted -- or the player is powered on.
Wonder if they were seeing previews...?
(Do they also call those clips, "trailers"?)

At any rate, there is strong evidence that some school-affiliated adult was watching a raunchy disk on a school machine -- and forgot to remove it...
Inexcusible, IMO!
