Biden tells "Meet the Press" that "everyone guessed wrong" on the impact of the stimulus, economy was worse off than anyone thought. Backs away from the estimate that the funds could create or save 3.5 million jobs, instead promises 600,000 by the end of the summer.

And we're suppose to trust them to nationalize Health Care, oversee the Auto Industry, and save us with Bailouts and "Recovery Plans"?!

They’re “guessing” on a lot of things. I wonder if the press will ask them if their health care proposal is a “guess” too? Or the nationalizing of banks? Or taking over GM? etc....

I won’t hold my breath.

No “guessing” going on here at all. This stimulus crap wasn’t meant to make things better, that was not a factor in the least.

Biden is so dumb. He should have just stuck with the origional lie. That way, when unemployment reaches 15% by the end of summer, he could say it could have been worse, but we saved 3.5 million jobs. it's just that the economy was worse than we thought.

Best bet for all of us is that the Government Step Down. The economy needs this clownshow out of the way or we’ll just keep on losing jobs until everybody is unemployed.

Hey Plugs:

Actually "everyone" didn't "guess wrong" Most of us, including the American public opposed this crap.

You and your merry band of incompetent morons need to stop the spending immediately, return the banks and automakers to private ownership, and reverse any changes to the nations defense posture.

Other than that, y'all need to crawl under a rock, shut up, and lawyer-up...big time.

You are right, it’s not a guess at all, it’s a planned strategy for the demise of America as we know it:

No one realized how bad the economy was.

What mendacious and deceitful blame shifting.

The Dems did everything they could to scuttle our economy so as to give them an election issue.

The problem is that, while the Dems are whizzes at undermining things, it's in their DNA that they are not able to grow an economy out of a recession.

They started by encumbering trillions in debt, for nothing other than political payoffs and taking over the companies that THEY weakened.

They all seem to believe in a mysterious "multiplier" effect, that says giving away money at the lower end of the economic spectrum stimulates more economic growth than it costs.

It turns out that the "multiplier effects" are (IIRC) in the order of 0.8, meaning that they are "guesses" are based on the success of what must be the economic equivalent to cold fusion.

Bingo. Even though it is expensive, you can put people to work with government spending. Unfortunately, the stimulus bill spent money in all the wrong places to stimulate hiring.

The Administration should have known this because that was one of the chief complaints about the bill. A small fraction of the money going to job creation and much of that money will take years to get out of Washington.

A huge whopping pricetag for a crappy product. Sort of like a GM car on a trillion dollar scale.

Not “everyone” guessed wrong about the effect of the “stimulous” package.

Those of us receiving a passing grade in Econ 101, from other than a leftist professor, predicted correctly that it would fail.

Largely because those implementing it had no intention of “fixing” the economy. Rather the intent was to maximize the basis for Federal control.

Why not just play 'Wheel of Fortune'. . .(spin it, Obama.. .) Or, remember the 'eight ball' that you ask the question; and turn it around, and then read the answer in it's window? Surely, both options here; as good; most likely better; that what the Obama pinheads are offering.

Joe is on to something. The last time that a president tossed big money at an employment problem we got the WPA and CCC. These guys did a lot of good work, but it didn't stop the depression. Because it takes a gross amount of money in the public’s hands to buy things that put other people back to work making things.

No question there was an agenda here; far from the crisis portrayed. Am wondering, of course; how long, was this on the table. The spring before the Election - when 'Chuck' Shumer first opened his mouth and predicted the failure of Fannie and Freddie?

Or. . .did Axelrod just have it all 'printed out'; 'ready to implement' per Communist Party's (USA) favored financial MO 'Economics for Dummies'. . .

Let's see, opposing the shamulus were Neil Cavuto, me, you, just about every FReeper and thinking conservative in the country, anyone who can actually count...have I left any out?

Can't find a liberal among them, though, so I guess nobody opposed it.

Like Yogi Berra said about a popular restaurant: "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too crowded."

First of all, only Obama and Co. “guessed” anything, and it would seem to me that they should have had something more than a mere “guess” when initiating something as massive as the porkulus.

Of course, anyone who knows anything about economics “knew,” not “guessed,” that the porkulus could only harm the economy.

The so-called stimulus is a contrived fraud. We are seeing the largest transfer of wealth from the private sector to the federal govt sector in our history. The private sector jobs will not return and Hussein Mugabe and his henchpukes know it.

Biden’s boss was running around the country talking about the “worst economy since the Depression”, and it wasn't true at the time. ODumbo’s words belie a supposed underestimation of the state of the economy.

Either he wants to be a one-term president yet irreversibly change the country toward communism, or he is an idiot and really did think that running up massive debts on spending programs would stimulate the private sector. If the former is the case, he'll alienate many Dems in congress as their states/districts continue to decay. If the latter is the case, the man has no business running a 7/11, let alone the USA.
