Yesterday is the day when Twitter thoroughly beat CNN. Badly beat CNN. Embarrassingly beat CNN. And most other USA-based media too.
Over on friendfeed we’ve been talking about this for the past 12 hours. Here’s one thread on CNN’s horrid news judgment.
This second thread is interesting because of the number of interesting news sources linked to by various people. Don’t miss the photos and videos. Great examples of photojournalism.
ReadWriteWeb wrote a good post to CNN.
I’ve been clicking “like” on the best items about Iran that have come through friendfeed. The photo above I found on TwitPic here. Pulitzer Prize winning material.

Good grief! Can you post why CNN embarrassed itself today without all of us having to click on links that don’t tell us why CNN embarrassed itself today!
My guess is that the Monica Media doesn’t want to show the events in Iran because it shows their lover Akmid Nutjob in a bad light, not to mention makes Obozo look like a fool.
Monica Media. I like that.
US media in general has historically been very bad at covering anything outside of the USA. As an English person travelling in the US it's very very noticeable how little foreign news you guys get to see. It's almost as if they have decided the rest of the world is not interesting enough for you. And also a possible contributor to many US citizens appalling knowledge of world geography. Hopefully the freely available world news via the internet will force them to change. - Gilbert Harding
What you said.
It’s amazing how many American stories get broken in the UK press.

I agree that is a fine photo, if it is legit.
It doesn’t take much to kick CNNs behind while they lick Zero’s behind.
Hmm.. wonder why that is?
Maybe they didn't hear that journalism is dead.
Good on 'em.
The media is most certainly a sham.
But I blame the American “I want American Idol results” and disregard of world events for a lot of the problem. Not only will the MSM report what sells, they will report whatever they think will keep them in a job (Obama adulation is a prime example).
Case , in point (today, Sunday)...the large metropolitan “news”paper I subscribe to carried a front page story that had continuation in a later page about the death of 4 teenagers that died in a car crash 20 years ago. Tragic..I agree. To get to the very limited coverage of Iran or North Korea...close to the back of the paper.
We no longer have true journalists. We no longer have a populace that cares to be informed. :(
Word
Here’s my favorite post on your first link:
“What are we talking about here. Reference plz? - Mitchell Schneider “
That about sums up my reaction to this thread.
Thank you!
Are the last four words necessary?
I think the Brits lost that “Obama glow” the week the Gordons were dissed in DC.
Obama has only dissed the Brits even more since then.
At some point the british reporters must have said to themselves - “gloves off”
CNN can’t report whats really going on in the country, or they’ll get kicked out. Just like the rest of the foreign press in Iran that acts as nothing more but an extension of Iranian state run media. Prime example of this is Christiane Amanpour wearing burkas and headscarfs while fawning over the leadership of Iran to gain interviews with them.
