I know a couple that get, according to them, $400 a month in food stamps.

I work in construction, making a good hourly wage, working 60-70 hours a week. I bring home by most peoples standards a pretty comfortable check. I watch the sales, and 90% of the time buy whats on sale, not what I happen to see at the moment. I also have a pretty completely stocked pantry, so I usually have most of what I need. The meat I buy is whats on sale, usually in the $2 per lb. price.

I'm working a hard job, with long hours, making GOOD money, and I'm not spending $400 a month on food.

I see people on food stamps buying stuff that with my income I very seldom would buy.

There's something wrong when a welfare recipient is buying more in groceries than a working person.
