We were there in February. It was fabulous, and there is more to do in the spring and summer because they have lots of outdoor stuff too. You can pack a lunch or eat in their cafes.
Plan on staying overnight and going the second day to see the things you miss the first day.
The hotels in the area have packages and discounts. We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites/Cincinnati airport because they had a pool.
