If you've got your eye on a new SUV, don't blink.
It might be gone. Even with the auto industry mired in depression sales are down nationally 36.5 percent big vehicles such as the Ford Expedition and Chevy Tahoe are in tight supply because of drastic production cuts that automakers imposed last year as sales began to plummet.
Now, a year after $4-a-gallon gas nearly killed SUVs, some dealers in this market are selling them for window-sticker prices. Moreover, most late-model used pickups and SUVs have regained all of the thousands of dollars in trade-in value they lost last summer, dealers say.

Gas prices are back up and sales will be down again, I guess.
Hubbys looking for a dodge with a hemi, they are rare as hens teeth.
Just buying them up before ObamaMotors bans them altogether.
We have two SUVs.
After getting over the sports car days of my youth and having a few kids, I wouldn’t own another kind of vehicle. I’m glad we bought both brand new over the past year. It may be difficult to get a good one after the envirwhakos get their way.
I heard on Rush's show today people are buying them for fear the will no longer be available in the near future....kind of like guns and ammo
Regular is $3.20 in Eureka Ca today...
“...the all-new, 2010 Death Trap. See your local dealer for details.”

So much for the hens teeth, I expect a commission.
I had read somewhere that for the last 10-15 years, the big money makers for the US Auto groups have not been the cars.
You’re liable to get a Kia these days in a Cracker Jacks box.
The big money makers have been the trucks.
I should have specified truck and he is buying it used not brand new.
Does the hemi really improve performance that much? Just curious :)
I should’ve added in a car used for just driving and hauling, not racing :)
He test drove one with a hemi and he hasn’t been the same since. I think its because my Durango outruns his truck and he’s just looking to one up me...;^)
Can get anyone an X-plan with Ford. Just need name, address and last 4 digits of SS security number. It just takes a couple of minutes, and saves $$$.
