So in this economy of 400-600,000 lost jobs per month, we’re supposed to give hiring priority to people who just got off the boat? They didn’t exactly move here during a boom year.
Americans sacrificed to free Iraqis from tyranny - surely they won't mind sacrificing their livelihoods for them here at home, as well.

In all fairness, a good number of them did provide invaluable help in the war, risking their lives in the process.
I hate welfare as much as the next guy, but I’d be careful to insult these refugees so freely.
They are getting free housing, free money for living expenses- call it welfare or food stamps- it is still free.
They are getting free classes in English and other instruction.
How much should we pay for them to ‘feel welcome”???
