Yeah I've been wondering about that: regardless of who wins the "election", would things really be any different for the average Iranian considering the same Mullahs are the ones actually running the show?

I give credit to the Iranians for standing up, but I feel like they're just being played and it's all an illusion.

I’m not so sure there ideology is vastly different. Sure they want the freedom to be more Liberal socially but should we believe they want to kill the nuke program, recognize Israel, stop supporting Hezbollah and stop meddling in Iraq?

Unless the islamic terrorist regime lead by the mullahs is overthrown then all these protests are not going to lead to anything. Iran is ruled by the terrorist mullahs and on the top is the so called Supreme leader(Khamenei and before him was khomaini). The President of Iran does not have the real power the council of terrorist mullahs and their head the Supreme leader do. Even if Mousavi becomes President of Iran nothing at all will change in the behavior of the Iranian terrorist regime as long the terrorist mullahs rule.

Agree 100%. The terrorist mullah council have the real power in Iran and not the President. As long as the terrorist mullahs rule then nothing will change no matter who is President.

...If the army turns, there will be a bloody revolution and the ouster of the Mullahs. I have a feeling the general army and the police will turn if the Rev Guard and the terrorist goon squads start mowing down the population in mass.

I’m personally praying for an overthrow of the control by the Mullahs. A second revolution and this time to a real democracy.

At this point, the protest makes about as much sense as 4.5 million US citizens swarming DC to demand that John Edwards be Secretary of State.

Seriously: Both Ahmadenijad and Mousavi were allowed to run by the Ayatolah, who really runs the country - ergo they’re not that different, both supporting what the Supreme Ruler wants out of the occupant of what is little more than a top cabinet position.

Yes, but the leftist media is trying to manipulate our opinions. Showing the pretty hippie girls is one of their methods. Printing signs in English is another. They are not going to show the ugly girls, or the conservative pretty girls.
