As a way to capitalize on the growing increase of Russian tourism to Israel, Israel's Minister of Tourism Stas Misezhnikov met in Moscow Thursday with Russia’s Minister of Transportation, Igor Levitin. The Tourism Minister recommended adding an additional carrier for regularly scheduled direct flights between Tel Aviv and Moscow, removing hitches in scheduling charter flights to various Russian destinations, and increasing the number of charter flights between Eilat and Moscow.

The Tourist Ministry stated in a news release that Russia has brought the second largest influx of tourists to Israel in the last few years. Despite the world economic crisis, Russian tourism to Israel still takes second place after the United States. In April, Russian tourism to Israel has increased by four percent, in comparison with the previous year.

If you can't beat them, join them. Is there any significant promotion of Russian tourism to the United States?

We need to buy some of the bombers from Russia for missle platforms.

20 year old TU-95’s would be fine.

WE could use the TU-95s for targets for the F-22.

Give Putin that old Czarist hotel/church in Jerusalem and that will encourage Russians to come and spend their Rubles.
Russia might make a better friend than Obama’s America. They have oil, and status in the Arab world.

Large portion of the populace in Kiryat Arba is Russian. My landlord barely speaks Hebrew, and often responds to my words in the national tongue with “ani lo medaber anglit” (I don’t speak English). My Hebrew’s not all that bad, either. He just doesn’t speak anything but Russian.
