It’s not a clear win for the Democrats until Iraq once again becomes a dictatorial hellhole hostile to the United States.

If folks in the CIA don’t give OB the finger and start helping the Iranians, Iraq will not stand after we leave....cause the Ayatollah will kill off all those who were in the streets in the June Revolution.

Khomenist clerics (prominent in the Iranian Regime) have a different mindset than the Al-Sistani Shi’ites (prominent in Iraq).

Nope.

Al-Sistani was born and raised in.....Iran. He is a Shiite. He was the one who threatened the United States if the Iraqi Constitution did not include “ISLAM WILL BE THE OFFICIAL RELIGION” and “ NO LAW SHALL CONTRADICT ISLAM”.

Why do you suppose there have NOT been giant demonstrations in support of Freedom in Iran? Remember the giant demonstrations in support of that punk Al-Sadr?

Islam cannot coexist with Democracy.

You have accurately described some commonly known information, but failed to grasp important distinctions.

Al-Sistani has made it abundantly clear (in words and deeds) that he does not believe in theocratic rule. That is why Nouri Al-Maliki was elected the President of Iraq (in a fragmented parliamentary system) and Achmadinnerjacket is President in name only of the Khomeniist Iran where the mullahs run the show (and apparently count the ballots). This is a distinction with important differences.

Your opinions about Islam being inconsistent democracy are simply biases steeped in ignorance and cynicism. 600 years ago, it would have been just as easy to say that European Christianity could not coexist with democracy because of the feudal system and authority of the Catholic Church. I wonder what happened?

You can’t compare islam to Christianity 600 years ago. Today millions of moslems have all the education, technology and much more money than Christians.

But try to practice freedom of religion in a moslem country.

The facts are that the Iraqi Constitution MANDATES
“ NO LAW SHALL CONTRADICT ISLAM” period.
