Ok, here is how it breaks down as far as I can tell: You have three armed organizations in Iran. 1:)The Basij(sp?), they are a gov. militia, used to keep the population under control most of the tims, kind of like a secret police, most of them wear civilian clothes and live in special barracks, they are the ones doing most of the shooting. It is rumored that they are not strong enough to control the large mobs so they brought in members of Hezbollah to help them. 2.)The army, this is the regular armed forces, supposedly they refuse to shoot at citizens, that doesn't mean they support the gov, that means they won't kill their own people. This is very good.3:)The Revolutionary Guard, I believe they are similar to the old Republican Guard of Iraq. I Know at least 16 of them were arrested for actually taking part in the protest. Where the org as a whole stands I don't know.
Most of our news agencies are too busy reporting on the Bozo's jaunt for ice cream to bring us any real news outside of showing violent videos so it is hard to get any info on all these military units. I do know that the military(which one I don't know) was dropping acid laced liquid onto crowds Saturday, among other things.
Thanks for that info!
