If you’ve bought one recently you may already have—didn’t they get fined $100m for the McLaren spy scandal 2 years ago?

Other way around. McLaren was caught spying on Ferrari. (The fine was $100m, though, plus disqualification from the constructors' championship, although the McLaren drivers were not held responsible.)
