David Rohde, a New York Times reporter who was kidnapped by the Taliban, escaped Friday night and made his way to freedom after more than seven months of captivity in the mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Until now, the kidnapping has been kept quiet by The Times and other media organizations out of concern for the mens safety.

They know how to keep a secret. Who knew?
But I'm glad they are safe.

Will this change his mind about, ahem, "freedom fighters"?
(When was the last time a bunch of evangelicals in, say, the Rocky Mountains kidnapped a Times reporter and held him by force of arms for months?)
Cheers!
Ditto.
It’s easy to escape from the Islamofascists as long as you just keep your head.
Yelp.
There’s a whole list of things they’ve published while our men are at war that I wished they wouldn’t have. They weren’t concerned for safety then.
Heck. Even our President once asked them to keep a secret for awhile and they turned him down.
I mean Former Pres Bush, not Obammagheddon.
The first American death in the Afghanistan War was Michael Spann. He was the CIA agent who was at the prison fort outside of Mazar-i-Sharif when the Taliban prisoners launched an attack and took over the fort. Before his death had been confirmed, Spann’s parents asked the MSM to refrain from publicizing the fact that Spann was a CIA agent because it would have put Spann’s life at risk. The MSM, however, refused to do this. Apparently though, special dispensations will be granted if you are part of the club.
I'm glad he's safe, too - but if there is anyone left in the FBI with any brains they will keep a close eye on him.
I doubt his captors were the Taliban. C’mon, ho many people have escaped from them? And the driver wasn’t hurt? Don’t they usually just shoot the Afghani driver and/or bodyguards and grab the Westerners? More than likely these guys were some local tribesmen who specialize in kidnappings for profit. The ransom was paid, and they were conveniently allowed to escape- right near a Pakistani outpost no less.
Damn. See, thats just what I thinking.
Thanks for your info
That poor family.
The media are scum suckers for the most part.
The ransom was paid, and they were conveniently allowed to escape
It’d be funny if they were paid in NY Times stock.
“Allah Akbar, this paper isn’t worth camel dung!”
So, the Times keeps secrets for itself, eh?
yup
LOL
.
Very impressive, and he did it without an Iron Man suit.
I heard the food was fantastic!

Evidently the only lives not worth saving are those of our brave soldiers and intelligence forces that have been tossed to the wolves by this same bunch of traitorous,self-congratulating, hypocritical gods of the New York Slimes.
Why have we not seen a brave prosecutor go after these self appointed and anointed gatekeepers of our collective moral conscience?
