Truly, I meant no rudeness. I genuinely like Jewish people, but I have tried for decades to understand their bizarre, inexplicable loyalty to and trust in the rats. If Israel, their homeland, is important to them, their preference for rats is completely unfathomable. So I can only conclude that either they don’t care about Israel one whit or they are doomed to relive their history of trusting the wrong people, such as those who sent them to the ovens.

Seriously, I’d hate to see you when you meant to be offensive.

I don’t know, you may want to consider, self-reporting that post, you’re going to get slammed in the day hours for it.

I’m going to go out on a limb and defend this comment, Although it should have been expressed with greater sensitivity, I happen to believe the poster intended no harm.

The comments I keep hearing from McCain voters in my community is this - we see a parallel with the complacency of many American Jews during the Holocaust, and their persistent love of FDR despite his inaction. (present Jews on this Forum excepted of course)

The rift between the Jews in Israel who overwhelmingly polled as distrusting Obama and the American Jews who voted for him overwhelmingly is the product of a single concept - American Jewsish lives are not on the line. It gives new meaning to Cain - I am not my brother’s keeper.

To me there are three groups of American Jews -

1) those for whom Israel means next to nothing or they are hostile to it. These are probably the most assimilated Jews.

2) the J Street/Israel Forum crowd who profess to care about Israel. But in their version of caring Israel is the wayward child in need of a firm and spanking hand from the US who knows best what is good for Israel. These Jews care equally for the so called human rights of Palestinians as they do for the rights of Israelis to just survive without being wiped out by Iran or terrorism. They are not religious. They are ethnic Jews.

This is the most dangerous group, the group which is giving Obama active cover for his anti-Semitism. They are wealthy and well organized. Their champion is Rahm Emanuel.

3. Leftist religiously affiliated Jews. These are the swing voters. They care about Israel but not enough to have believed the ample evidence of Obama’s hostility to the Jewish State. They were willing to set aside the obvious and risk Israel’s security in order to elect the first Black man and stay with the leftist cause. They do not want the US to tell Israel what to do. They support Settlements, an undivided Jerusalem, and do not trust the Palestinians. But on domestic issues they may be quite left.

It is this group that Morton Klein is talking about. It is this group that supports AIPAC, sends their children to Israel, and may actually admit to their folly, and vote differently next time.

I personally understand the hostility of the non-Jewish Freepers on this site to the American Jewish voters. I don’t blame them. So do numerous Jewish Conservative authors, many posted here, who are decrying the vote of their fellow Jews. We all feel the same way.

I won’t insult these posters’ intelligence or impugn their motives by claiming it is anti-Semitism that makes them rail against the US Jewish vote.

How can I? I feel the same anger and betrayal. I see from their anger caring for the reverse - not just caring for the US but also caring for Israel.

Nevertheless some comments are over the top. It is not ALL Jews. And Jews alone are not responsible for Obama’s election. Please don’t alienate the posters here. We are on the same side.
