Yeah, could be. None of them have guns, and as far as I know, not a single Basij or cop has been shot by a protester despite a full week of brutal beatings and killings. But aside from that, the theorys airtight.
"And now, the Iranian government is apparently claiming that rioters were responsible for Ms. Agha-Soltans death. The government-run Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) reported that a reliable source confirmed after examining the bullet and the way Ms. Agha-Soltan was shot that rioters were responsible for her death, and that a number of people had been arrested in connection with her death."

The only part of that I believe is that a lot of people have been arrested for her murder. Of course none of them actually had anything to do with it.

The one thing you note when watching the videos coming out of Iran was that the demonstrators didn't even try and match the night sticks being used on them. Other then rocks I didn't see any escalation on the part of the people.(would have liked to)

So this flies in the face of ABC’s assertion of her death being staged?

This posting should go out to all those FReepers who kept themselves so busy relentlessly posting their accusations of fraud against the Neda videos.
Could they now say that the Islamic Republic's state media & their sources, who claim to have examined the bullet & Neda's wound/body, are in on the hoax?
Well, while some FReepers did qualify their doubts as only possibilities, others repeatedly declared it as irrefutable fact. So, for the later, even that is possible.

So we may guess that the rooftop snipers shooting protesters today are either fellow protesters or the mullahocracy learned the trick from protesters?

The latest story, reportedly from the doctor who was on the scene, is unexpected. He says that the crowd knew who shot her, and apprehended that man. He assailant said that he had not intended to kill her. The crowd took his picture,
then let him go.One does not know what to make of this story.
If true, it means that there was no rooftop sniper, and indeed, the shot must have been fired from near, because it is hard to judge the direction of gunfire. The story by the doctor could support the allegation that she was shot by a member of the crowd - who had apparently also fired on a number of Basijs. If the man whom they apprehended had been a member of the Iranian security forces, would not they have released his picture?
But I don't know whether the doctor's testimony is genuine.

"...allegation that she was shot by a member of the crowd - who had apparently also fired on a number of Basijs." Apparently? There have been hundreds of videos and photos show Basijs with & firing guns. I haven't seen any videos or photos of any protester with or firing a gun? If you have, I'd be interested in seeing it.
