From Wikipedia: “Fawcett was a sex symbol whose iconic poster, released the same year Charlie’s Angels premiered, broke sales records, making her an international pop culture icon. ... The series formally debuted on September 22, 1976”.

The poster was released in 1976.

From Wikipedia: “The Vietnam War, also known as the Second Indochina War, was a Cold War military conflict that occurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from September 26, 1959[1] to April 30, 1975.”

The war ended in 1975.

If you were in some sort of mop-up or continuing operation on a naval vessel, perhaps your memory is correct. You, however, specifically mention basecamp. It still would be possible if the basecamp was not in-country.

So Laz’s Mythbusters cannot call this Busted. It is declared ‘Undetermined’. It could have happened this way, but you could not be in-country with Farah’s poster. Just couldn’t happen quite like that.

Laz, old buddy, you solved a problem that wasn’t a problem.

I replied to smoothsailing in my post 10 to HIS post 5, wherein he claimed to have aposter of Farrah in basecamp in Vietnam. I quoted his post in italics.

In his post 16 reply to me, he agreed with me on the suspect timing.

Then six months later, Stogie556, a noob one day old comes along and asks to see my campaign ribbons.

I never said anything about serving in Vietnam.

I lived through the Vietnam era but was not eligible for the draft until 1972, and had high lottery numbers that year. The war ended early in 1973 for American troops.

Wiki says the war ended on April 30, 1975—becasue that was the date when North Vietnma took over Saigon, You rmember the photos of the airlift by our copters of Embassy and RVN nationals during those dark days.

I appreciate your historical research, but Stogie556 had a reading comprehension problem in understanding my reply to smoothsailing, a problem smoothsailing didn’t have at the time.

smoothsailing—am cc’ing you to this—see previous posts on this thread to see what I’m referring to.
