Not that it's a bad thing or a good thing ~ it's just that Department of Justice has a responsibility to know such things, and if suspected, follow up with a serious investigation.
BTW, if you get rid of one judge they'll just put in a new one, usually pretty much like the original one.
I suppose it's theoretically possible to run a society without a judiciary ~ but please do that someplace else, OK?!
Personally I think just about anyone drawing a Federal paycheck should spend a lot of time looking over their shoulder these days.
A little healthy fear would be a good thing for them I think.
